You're driving one of the baddest cars ever made period and giving attention to internet comments from people who live in their moms basment and don't even have a car, Let alone a 1020hp beast from the factory.

M3 requires mods to compete at which point then sacrifices reliability, To have a product like Model S Plaid that can do 9's out of the box and comes with a 8 year 150,000 warranty in my opinion is invaluable. Andrew from Tesla plaid channel has around a thousand 1/4 mile passes with no issues, Think about an ice car equivalent trying to do a thousand 9 second passes without issues.

And also, the Model S LR with 670hp runs 10.6@130mph and looks EXACTLY like the Plaid minus the rear spoiler for $79K. If we are talking about the street and daily driving that is PLENTY. I'm getting the Plaid because its "sport mode" runs slightly faster than the LR's "insane" mode so its basically two cars in one. Me personally, I'm going to drive the Plaid in "sport mode" around town and on an occasion need for speed take it to the strip and let it rip in Plaid mode. Even sport mode is too fast for public roads but it'll spare the battery degredation while still providing neck snapping performance.

Not gonna lie, I was one of those people who said Teslas (and their owners) were gay as a joke, and still laugh at memes about Teslas but I can definitely understand the appeal of them plus EVs in general. Me personally, I’ve driven a couple of Teslas before and honestly, I didn’t really like them compared to other evs like the BMW iX and I can’t imagine just having an EV as my only car but that’s probably because I’m young and still in that phase of “me want loud fast car haha”. It’s nice having a car that you can play around with and also have as a reliable daily driver and not worry about footing unexpected repairs because you’re still under warranty. What I relate to most is the worrying about this and that when tuning. I had a JB4 on my G20 330i (first car) and I would throw e85, 100 octane, whatever to make the logs more stable and nothing would get it looking like the guys over on the east coast with their e30 93 mixtures and I would constantly stress about whether the engine or transmission were going to blow up. I’d love to tune my G87 with JB4 since I’ve heard good things about it but the underlying fear of losing warranty and something going bad is always on my mind: I had catless downpipes a couple of months back on stock tune and the car ran great and sounded awesome but I was just scared that my warranty was going to get fucked over when BMW saw it at service so I just preemptively took them off not even a month into having them. I have phases where I’m thinking I’ll say fuck it and just tune and get it out of the way but then I imagine the worst case scenario happening in my head and it scares me away. I know that Carbahn has a factory warranty matching tune and that it’s pretty conservative so that you don’t really have to worry about anything but I just don’t think it’s worth the money just for that 50-60hp power boost. In the end, the grass is always greener on the other side and like you said, we always want what we don’t have but once we get it, we often realize it’s not all sunshine and rainbows and that it comes with its own setbacks and challenges. That being said, I’ll probably just hold off on tuning and putting the downpipes on until I’m fully ready to disregard the drivetrain warranty or I get a second car that I can just drive reliably and go full send with this one.

Your choice of transmission really shouldn't dictate whether or not you're a car guy. Much like a cuckold enjoys sex while not actively participating in it; there's nothing wrong with letting the computer drive the car for you. Personally I think they should make manual transmissions illegal. They're too distracting from the multiple ipads throughout the vehicle.

I have a 2018 911 gt3 and a plaid with track pack brakes. very different. both awesome. ceramic brakes are a must on the plaid.

Love these videos i commented last time about my c43. When i was selling it and saw the highland m3p and its benefits/promotions it was hard to beat. I was very active in a german car community and most aren’t accepting of evs but then i remembered other people dont pay my bills😂 The bargain you get with these cars and being able to charge at home is just unbeatable. Sometimes i still do miss fiddling on certain things and adding mods because there is not much you can do to these cars but you dont NEED to do anything really except wheel/tire setups. Im getting better than c63 performance for HALF the price just cant beat it. And for the same price as the c63 (4 cyl lawnmower) thats plaid money which blows it straight out of the water.

People that don’t understand where times are going are gonna get left behind. We are at a time when you turn to an adult but refuse to accept it. These cars are Eco, maintenance free, tech and stupid fast. Period.

I have a used car dealer and i bought my plaid new i drive about 200-300 miles a day 6 days a week and i plan on making it the first 1mill miles plaid ! I had an accident at 10k miles and the rear motor is only 10k i was afraid that id be 30k being carbon but its not too bad

60k miles later with my plaid and the complaint i have are the Audio system isn’t great … it eat tyres like a motherfucker but that’s fine i changed it to a square setup 285/35r20 it gets likely 40k miles per sets of tyre now

Yes i just experienced on face book about the hate on Tesla. I brought up the subject that i owned a Tesla. and right away all the negative replys, all i said it is the best car i have ever owned. and said that they probably never driven one. So they dont know what they are talking about.

The Tesla hate is largely political. As usual, the left wing media creates the boogeyman narrative, starts pounding the messaging across multiple platforms including social media, and then like simpletons people flip their attitude and start running with the narrative as they cant think for themselves - left wingers are very easily led by mass media messaging, and their side of the aisle controls 99% of the media so they don't have a chance. Tesla is by FAR the best set of EVs out there, its not even close. They are fun to drive, and they are economical if you are smart in how and when you charge them. They are sustainable to many, especially if you have good solar capabilities as well.

It's so true, I'm dead sleeping at 5am on Saturday morning! I think it's one thing to have negative opinions for EVs in general, that's cool. Anyone who can articulate their concerns is legit. It's the ones that voice an opinion with zero reasons and then clump EV owners into a group that they proceed to insult in ways that are frankly nonsensical. Like this whole EVs are an appliance thing. Who has ever mistaken their washer for their car? The similarities between EVs and appliances stop at the fact that they're plugged in. Every other ICE car has screens, electric devices, sounds, shapes, functions that could be compared to appliances, but nobody mentions that. You're a true car enthusiast who appreciates what each unique car brings to the table whether you like it or not.
