I'm playing this on Windows 10. I'm not sure if this will download and work the same, but I can tell you how I downloaded it.
How are you playing this?? I've been wanting to for a while but I don't think I have my discs anymore.
The discs no longer work, sadly as I do still have my original ones, but if you Google 'The Sims 1 Complete Collection download,' you will find a website called Internet Archive. I downloaded the RAR file and followed the instructions. I also used 7-Zip to extract the file. Hopefully, this is helpful. I believe my Roomies 1 episode has the comments where I helped someone else to download.

Yes, the whole collection. I am working my way to playing all the expansion packs. These are current videos I've recorded. 🙂
Mama Hick being rookie of the year and then falling into a great depression was the most realistic depiction of life yet (as is you immediately carpeting the place LOL)

jidsof the killing off of the pets was so relatable, funny, and sad. Sims 1 pets could be so annoying LOL
They really are, and there is nothing to make them happy when they are the only pet. I don't remember them being this annoying when I was a kid. 🙃

Unfortunately, yes. I also had the glitch where no other families would show up. Which does make it feel lonely.

Edit: I assume you're trying to keep with the more realistic gameplay so you aren't using Bonehilda for free maid? + I think one of the dishwashers has a trash compartment which I remember being easier for trash BUT that may just be my wishful thinking and the trashcan is just as good/bad.
Yes, I did. I don't know why she wouldn't give me her friendship. Haha. Yes and no. I honestly forgot about Bonehilda, and as for the compactor, hmm... I'll have to save up for it. 🙂

I downloaded it from a website called archive. org, if you search The Sims 1 Complete Collection, it should come up. I used the RAR file and followed the instructions. I also used 7 Zip to extract it.

THE FIRE WAS REALLY NASTY. THE WORST I'VE EVER SEEN IN ANY SIMS GAMEPLAY ON RUclips. RIP CHRIS. AND RIP MIKEY. POOR MELISSA. T_T
It really wasn't expected, and when it happened, I wanted to quit and start over, but I decided that's how Sims works. Things I don't want will happen, so let it be. So, a new story for Melissa. 💕
