Просмотров 8 тыс.4 года назад
This video covers the removal and replacement of a camshaft seal on a 2002 Volkswagen Jetta TDI ALH. This is a teflon seal that came as part of the ID Parts Timing Belt Kit: www.idparts.com/alh-timing-belt-kit-038109119m-p-449.html Note that you have to let the teflon seal sit for 4 hours before you can rotate the engine. No spring on the inside of the seal=teflon

I just purchased this used Texas truck and am in the process of freshening it up. Has the CP3 conversion, EGR delete, and straight 5 inch exhaust. She needs a nickname!

Leaving the student section at the Big House after Michigan defeats Notre Dame 35-31, September 10th, 2011.
cool vantage-point, there. Was in nosebleeds on Friday, and uploaded footage of that view if you wonder how it looked from up there. Pretty cool. then sec 204 row 8 on Saturday night Can't help but wonder if those people to the left of you had their view of Danny blocked...that wouldn't be cool.
No, he was high enough on the stage that they could see him without obstruction.
Fuck yeah! See St. Bartholomew turned up too :-)
I go out there a lot and still haven't done this obstacle
Amazing! My tour is booked for next week!
Mute!
I take this flight tomorrow🎉
Enjoy!
Cameraman can't stay focused on the Colorado. Pans all over the place.
Very nice. I have a 2022 ZR2 (non Bison), as well. I've never been to this spot, but it looks fun. I have 33's and just factory lift. Do you have a lift and what size tires? Just wondering if I'd even have a chance at this. Thanks for sharing!
I am 100% stock.
@@wingnut742000 Is the Bison "stock", with 31" tires and a 2" lift, like the non-Bison? Thanks again.
@@mixedbag1347 pretty sure, it might have a little bit more lift
I was just out there today solo in my TJ on 31’s and a 2 inch lift, I was like NOPE. LoL
It looks worse than it is. I would not do it solo either!

No seat swaps? :-) Looks amazing. Never realized how green it was around the canyon.
There was just a ton of rain due to the monsoons. Everything was greening up.
Beasts!
Thanks for the video! I am doing this tonight to mine! I tried using a seal puller and ended up just making a mess of things. Looking like I will need to repair some gouging to the cam seal "cap" and this will make the job a ton easier. THANK YOU!
replace it if gauged. best way. takes away guesswork
you really helping Thnks a LOT!!!!!!
How many miles since this install? Does it leaks?
About 10k miles. No leaks.
@@wingnut742000 GREAT
By the way, I did mine today, but I have been able to extract it with screws.
Just a suggestion from an old man: When you install a new seal, rub just a little oil on the lip. A lot of wear can take place in the seconds until the oil flows to it. Video showed great views of the process. Thank you.
These ptfe seals are to. be installed completely dry for what it's worth. It's completely counterintuitive but that's what VW calls for.
Was that a spring type seal that was installed? Thanks for he video. I will have to do this tomorrow as I couldn’t get the old seal off.
It came with the ID Parts timing belt kit. You can check their website for details.
@@wingnut742000 6:43 once you seated the seal and then put the bearing cap on top, did it feel like you were crushing/pressing down on the seal? I started my car back up and it is leaking oil from the seal. Gotta TDC everything and lock it all up to remove the belt again and check the camshaft seal :(
@@SteveFloresCoach you should be able to visually inspect the cap and see where the seal previously was seated. It did not feel like it was crushing it at all.
Thanks for a good informative video
Tyler Bergstedt I know what happened. The seal was one number on the size too big. Thankfully I had another one of the right size! After the oil leak I had to take it all apart again...now it won’t start. I loosened the IP pulley bolts and noticed my timing on IP is off. What a pain!! Now I gotta start over.
why are you parting it out for? engine problem? looks like a clean tractor.
