Mammoth Mountain December 2021- Avalanche Chutes Powder
Просмотров 1,2 тыс.2 года назад
Avy #3 on the first bluebird day following the December 2021 storm cycle. Super high SW winds led to some nice windbuff with free refills on the Avy chutes while mid and upper mountain were closed

Wowww!!❤❤❤❤
Gotta love mammoth, More snow than anywhere in North America! 10’ dumps on top of 6’ dumps! Still boot deep……..
Mammoth hard to beat on a good Pow day
Ah, chair 23. A ski resort all in one lift.... Sigh, I have such good memories....
Your friend took the sweet powder and you went to the windblown garbage, normally you use that for later when you get first chair lol
Nah. I had planned to ski this particular line. The entire face was wind-effected that day.
Are you sure that isn’t One Chance?
This is Avy 3. One Chance is further down the ridge on the skiers left, basically directly uphill from the top of chair 16.
And then 10 minutes later it was completely ski’d out lol
Kurwty
cool
Wish I could do that! Looks fun.
guy was probably hitting above 50mph..fast
ruclips.net/user/shorts6gQRgN6w2JY?feature=share Dangerous avalanche 👀🔥🔥🔥👀👀😳😳😳🔥
i wanna go there so bad
i like this contenu
Looks so fun. Literally some of my top 3 memories are from Chair 23. I've had three knee surgeries and can't really snowboard anymore (I can, but then I can barely walk for a week afterwards). Miss it. That vid brings me back.
You need to get yourself one of the Donjoy knee braces! It's a game changer for those with knee injuries.
@@Burd805 thanks--already have a custom donjoy and wear it when riding. I think those really help with stability, and my ACL actually looks good. I'm told my problem is a torn meniscus and that here's no good surgical repair for my tear. So I kinda just live with it, waiting for medical science to catch up with my injury haha
I have to try that one day!
yo wtf the guy at the exit was friggin wearing a polo shirt and jeans not even gloves wtf his skin isnt even red is he goddamn ice man or is he ice does he melt in the summer
It’s Cali brah. Warm days. I’ve skied in a T-shirt many times. However, always wear gloves. Found that out the hard way. lol
did they charge you double?
that looks so fun was gonan go skieng but got f-in covid
Sick!
lift line first chair on a powder day hits different. everyone on the chair always cheering you on best feeling
nice skis
hello there
I have not skied that run since my last college race in 1987! We used to finish racing and get in as many runs up there as we could before we had to leave. On good snow days Mammoth is really hard to beat. I live in Salt Lake now and still enjoy skiing the difficult stuff in my late 50's. Thanks for posting and bringing back great memories ...
It’s true what they say, California doesnt get real Powder.... just wind crusted crap like these guys skied
You guys were so desperate for attention and validation from the ski lift that you didn’t even stop to take in the view
Dafuq with the view. They went there for the snow not for the view.
Lol that's what the ride up the lift was for
Опасно ) 👍👍
Yaaassss
I did both chutes today, they weren't as great as this but was still fun
My dad helped build this chair!! One of my favorites of all time!
That's sick! Definitely one of the coolest lifts around!
fellaz in europe you can get untracked still at noon right from the lift
This would be much more challenging on a snowboard
Not a ski instructor, but the only thing I would recommend is powder baskets
Hahah got them now!
Nice
Good Ol Sierra Cement!
Damn I want to try skiing one day! This run looks dope on skis!
I hope you get the opportunity to try it!
How do you stop. I mean you were so fast. I think its really hard to stop in deep snow without falling
@@_p4ris4ch1ll6Turn in the snow, get out of the fall line and use your edge to drag in the snow.
How many seconds passed before all that got tracked up....Mammoth being Mammoth.
So sick!
Once going up 23 I told the kid sharing the chair it wasn't as steep because of the installation of the lift, they blew part to the top lip off. His response: "Dude, I've lived here for 17 years, this chair has always been here". Yea I felt old.
I’m so confused.
@@tommyv8312 To install the lift they had to level the very top off, taking away the steepest part at the top. So just to get into the chutes you needed to maked a hairy nuts drop. To get there you had to tuck from from the gondola then hike to the top of the chutes. Now, get off my lawn you whipper snappers!
I skied that spot in 4’ of fresh snow in 1987. Much deeper than this. But nice to watch.
Damn that sounds awesome!
Me too! Great run!
So much mountain and you go back down the chair
I had planned on skiing this line for a long time
The people on the lifts must have been like "what the hell"
I'm so jealous of that powder
Id savor that 1st line by turning more
Well I’d recommend you do that mate!
Didn’t even make a turn
Sheesh I go to mammoth all the time
I wished i was there good run thanks
It's a pretty sad year when there's that much to jump off of in late January....it looks like late spring...oh well..next year.
So far your comment has aged well!
Great to watch non-plumbers with helmet cams skiing well.
Amazing skiing. I’m a ski instructor and one thing that I saw that can be better I’d that you are flying your arms everywhere. Try keeping a more quiet upper body as your skiing. Looks like such a sick line though.
If you're at a big party how do you tell which one is the Ski Instructor? Don't worry he'll tell you.
I'm not a ski instructor and I completely agree with this assessment.
@@djc7039 LOL same thing in the car racing world.
Nice timing, nice line.
Lol yes...my coaches would always tell me the same thing 😝
