Your solders are not pretty. A good soldering wire, a hotter soldering iron and a lot of practice. I hope it works well and that's the most important thing.

No compression check prior to disassembly? Compared to pulling the head off , it's a no brainer. That block is not XF, it's still an OHC block. Early E or late X series OHC had distributors. Tip, before removing fasteners of components, remove wires, hoses etc connected to it first, then the fasteners holding the component on. Otherwise you're trying to remove items from a part, that's moving all over the place. Just saying.🤔

Xflows standard dont rev well at all usually can bend pushrods after 5200rpm. They dont rev in stock form well at all as we know. 4200 with stock cam and extractors works ok. Upgraded 350holley 4600rpm already well past peak power. Plenty of potential though. Bigger cam really wakens the xflow up. 230@050" camtech works a treat so much midrange and topend and a shaved c2 head. I always wanted to try 3 stock webers with 3 x small port twin runner manifolds cut up and welded /blanked off. Good fun the ole xflows.

I owned a 1979 733i. LHD. 4-speed stick. Beautiful navy blue leather. Even in the mid-1980s it was a very rare bird. I purchased it used with 75,000+ miles on the odo. It was such a beautiful automobile, when it wasn't in the shop. It was the worst car to own yet the best to drive. A blown head gasket came with a $6k repair bill back in 1989....and the best reason allow someone else to love it as I did.

Great video. I have some rust in my XH. Son is coming down for christmas and helping me as he's done some welding. Haven't welded in 35 years, so no idea how I'll go. This is good to see though, to have an idea of the sort of tools you need for starters. I have grinders, welder etc, but not the hammer, dolly etc.

So basically it was the head gasket that had gone… By looking at that old gasket it was forked. It was leaking radiator fluid through the ports into the oil ports. You can see it. It Causes white smoke from the exhaust due too evaporation. 👍

I'll be buying this motorcycle zzr 600 for 175 euros ( doesn't start , been standing still for 3 years and let's hope I can get it running) next week and I can wait to turn it like this

Iv had over 10 falcons ranging from ED, BA, BF's and they all had slight bubbles coming in the overflow tank.. I'm guessing its normal as they all ran perfectly fine.. great video though mate! plenty of info for people to repair their falcon headgasket.
