Civivi Starflare review - Flashy and functional
Thanks for your knife videos. Keep them coming I just got the Kershaw analyst
I like the Analyst. Good choice. I hope you get lots of good use out of it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
Thanks for your honest review.
Thank you for taking the time to watch. I appreciate it. Cheers.
I've been thinking of getting this very model. THX
I like the look of this one. The black handle and Damascus is also a nice knife but I liked the ivory handles better. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
Not sure if you mentioned it in the video but buck also has the highline which looks more “high end” but it does have D2 at least.
I didn’t mention it but thank you for that information. I enjoy when people share helpful information. Thanks for watching. Cheers
Wheres the endura 4 made?
I believe it is made in Japan. Hope that helps. Thanks for watching. Cheers
@thecanadianedge1 I still have never bought a spyderco. Ive got to get one.
@@ofthedawn They make some great knives. You won't be disappointed if you do get one. Cheers
I really like it, I don't have anything quite like it in my collection... In the UK where I am its only £18.95 now so Im going to order it,thanks for the review. All the best. : -)
It is interesting. Be careful with it if you do purchase one as my Son in law had this one partially open in his pocket and he cut himself on it. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers
Where else are civivi sold? Just got my first , a brazen at walmart. Love it.
You can find them online at Knife Centre and Blade HQ. Careful you don’t end up buying a huge knife collection. It is an addicting hobby. Thanks for sharing and watching. Cheers
Very interesting knife. What did you pay for it?
They are about $100 dollars in Canada. They maybe discontinued now as they are an older knife. Thanks for watching. Cheers
@thecanadianedge1 Thanks for that info. I found some new old stock for $81, which sounds pretty good to me. I may get one.
@@BrewCityRider That is a great price. They are nice knives but the handle does grip the pocket quite well. Some people sand it smoother to get it in and out of the pocket easier. I think it is a great knife. If you get one, I do hope that you enjoy it. Cheers.
Got this today. I was hoping for a Ganzo but they're like $50 in Canada.
I have a Ganzo in my collection and it is a nice knife. Did you get your Gerber on sale at Canadian Tire? It is also a nice knife. I hope you get lots of good use from it. Thanks for commenting and watching. Cheers
@@thecanadianedge1 Yeah I got it on sale at Canadian Tire for like $20 bucks. Ended up gifting a $14 Gerber Ripstop ll as well. They seem like solid knives for the price.
just got one of these from an old childhood friend as a wedding present. Love it
They are a great knife and make a great gift. I hope you enjoy the knife. Thanks for commenting and watching. Cheers
Good looking blade.
This is a good looking knife but I wish they would have made it lighter. It has been a good camp/hiking knife for me. Thanks for taking the time to watch. Cheers.
Good size for pocket carry or to toss in the ashtray of my truck.
It definitely doesn't take up a lot of room. I usually carry it as a secondary knife for small jobs. Thanks for commenting and watching.
HOW MANY CM IS THE TOTAL LENGTH OF THE KNIFE?
The knife is 17.5 cm long. Thanks for watching. Cheers
@@thecanadianedge1 Thank you
Saludos hay clones
Thanks for watching. Cheers.
34 dollars is to much when ozark trail has a 10 dollar d2 knife.
I have been meaning to look into Ozark Trail knives. Thanks for the reminder. I will have to check them out. Thanks for commenting and watching. Cheers.
@thecanadianedge1 you'd be surprised.
When did Jordan Peterson start doing edc flashlight reviews?😂
Lol. Well, not quite Jordan Peterson but maybe he likes flashlights too. Thanks for commenting and watching. Cheers.
Just got one and i cant open it easily as u do, any idea what coud it be ?
Apparently this is common with this knife. Mine was tough to open as well. You have to break it in by opening and closing it repeatedly for a couple of days. If you have some pivot lubricant add that as well but just keep opening and closing it and it will eventually loosen up. I hope you enjoy the knife because it is a good knife once broken in. Thanks for watching. Cheers.
I have one and I like it quite nice.
This is my favourite fixed blade in my collection. I used it a lot for camping and hiking. Thanks for commenting and watching. Cheers.
Never saw this one till now, was a great year 👍
Thanks. I will have to do another one soon for this year. Take care b
The upper curve along the blade and handle is a nice touch. Look forward to the full review 👍
Thanks my friend. It is a good looking knife. Thanks for your support and taking time to watch.
A number of years back Big 5 was selling H&K knives. Sometimes you could catch them with sale prices as low as $15-$20. Turned out these knives were benchmade. I would buy them and resell for 2-3x what I payed for them. Sometimes more. They are really valuable these days. Not saying this is a benchmade but it wouldn’t be the first time a nice benchmade knife could be found for bargain basement prices
That is really interesting information. I was not aware of that. While this is a decent knife it doesn't seem like Benchmade quality but I could be wrong. Thanks for sharing that info. I always like learning new things. Thanks for taking the time to watch. Cheers.
How much?
This knife sells for around $80 here in Canada.
Cool channel Swap subs? Already hit yrs. Im trying ro go live. Plus congrats on 1k subs. Thanks.
Nice when a clearance item delivers 👍See you for the review !
I know, right? Thanks for watching and all your support. Take care my friend
I like the double-edged look of the blade, and it fits well with the handle and "dagger feel" of the whole knife.
I like the look of this knife as well. It is not likely a knife that will make my daily carry but it is a decent knife. Thanks for stopping by and watching. Cheers.
Nice collection and congratulations on 1k ! Enter me as well, thanks
Thanks for the kind word and thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Cheers.
Congrats on 1k, that is the big one ! Count me in ! Cheers
I am pretty excited about reaching this goal. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers
Congrats friend 👍
Thanks for all your support and encouragement my friend. All the best to you.
Absolutely you need that in the collection. Thats a neat little novelty.
It would be a nice addition to the collection. Maybe some time in the future. Thanks for watching. Cheers
Well, isn't that a fancy looking rig. I might have to look into that unit a bit more.
It is pricey but it works well. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Take care.
@thecanadianedge1 I didn't end up purchasing it but I was looking at one when I went to House of knives today. Seems to be decent quality for the price.
@@chad403 So far I am liking mine. Maybe it will be a future purchase for you. Take care.
Nice to see a fellow Canadian on this site for once. Love your videos, feller. I appreciate the honest and simple reviews you give.
Thanks for the kind word and thanks for taking the time to watch. Cheers.
@thecanadianedge1 you have a very nice collection of knives. Your enthusiasm has made me want to start collecting again. I purchased a Kershaw Shuffle today from House of Knives, will be a new addition to my dirt biking "go bag". Nice knife, a bit on the small side but fits the hand nice for light duty
@@chad403 Nice. I am jealous about the dirt biking. I used to enjoy riding motorcycles. Kershaw is a good choice. I hope that you get great use out of it. Thanks for sharing. Cheers.
Congrats!
Thank you and thanks for watching. Cheers.
Congratulations Brian!
Thanks Jay and thanks for all your support. Take care my friend.
I'm happy somebody reviewed this knife
I am happy that this made you happy. I hope it was helpful. Thanks for watching. Cheers
I have a custom 350 dollar spyderco knife and that thing is super high quality and smooth. I just got this cabellas knife a few days ago and I’m genuinely impressed with how great this knife is. It stays incredibly sharp and does NOT feel like a 10 dollar knife I’d say it feels more like a 70 dollar knife
I was really surprised by this knife as well. I have reviewed some of the other knives that have Cabela's name and are more expensive and this knife feels like the better knife. This is one of the best very budget knives I would recommend for a person. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to watch. Cheers.
@@thecanadianedge1ofc man and keep up the reviews 🤘
992 👍
Getting there. Thanks for your support.
I got this with a binoculars set my mom got me, it is by far my favorite knife. I want to see if I can buy a stand-alone knife from leap old and not with the kit
It seems like a good knife. I hope you get good use out of it. This knife belongs to a friend and he got it with the binoculars as well. Enjoy the knife and I hope you can find a stand alone knife as well. Thanks for sharing and watching. Cheers.
In my city, in Ukraine, it sells for $24. Used
@@pekar2721 That is a good deal. I hope you are well if you are still in Ukraine. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
Very cool knife, I like that bowie styled clip point. 👍Thanks for sharing, take care my friend and Cheers!
I am a fan of the Bowie style blades as well. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Take care my friend.
I have one. Is it pretty, YES. But I give it a 2 out of 10 on the action. Mine wont open when you try and flick with the button lock. I just use the thumb stud most times.
Sorry to hear that. Have you contacted Buck? Apparently they have really good customer service. It might be worth a try. You could also try some pivot lubricant and slightly loosening the pivot screw. I hope you enjoy the knife. Thanks for sharing and watching. Cheers.
The blade did not seem that short, until you left it open on the table at the end. That is a pretty different looking pocket clip for sure !
It is a small knife but it looks good. It is an unusual pocket clip for sure. Thanks for taking the time to watch and comment. Take care my friend.
Just got this one today. It does seem like a great EDC knife. Have you ever looked at Byrd knives? Made by Spyderco, but they are less expensive. I like decent, inexpensive knives for EDC. Reason being, if they ever get taken from me (by security personnel or someone of the like) or if I lose it, I'm not out too much dollar-wise. Had a friend at an airport security checkpoint and he had to throw away a $100+ pocket knife.
I am familiar with the Byrd knives. I don't own any but I agree with your logic. It is much easier to lose a budget knife than an expensive one for sure. Most of the knives I carry as an edc are inexpensive but they work great for what I need them for. Thanks for sharing and watching. I hope that you get good use out of your knife. Cheers.
Hi. Can you get a full 4 finger grip on this one. Thanks
I can but it just fits. I have a medium sized hand so anyone with a larger hand would find their pinky finger at the end of the handle. Thanks for asking and thanks for watching. Cheers.
Thumbstuds are forbidden in Canada, so as Assisted opening ( Bearing system ). That’s why if you open Camille’s webpage, which is in USA the same knife on the photos has the thumbstud, but yours, which is bought in Canada doesn’t have.
You can have thumb studs in Canada. I have noticed that some knife brands have knives without thumb studs for certain stores but the same knife in another store will have them. I am not sure why they do that. Thanks for watching and commenting. Cheers.
1 of 3 good so far !
Yes. I think they were returns or clearance knives because I don’t see any damage on them. Thanks for taking the time to watch and for all your support. Take care my friend.
Yes this is the model known as the Kizer Original. I’m definitely interested in this one. Nice review!
Thanks for the kind words. This is a great knife. Smooth pivot and I like the button lock. I think you would be happy with this knife in your collection. Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch. Cheers.
36 dollars on Amazon right now
@@alexandermarco8374 That is a great deal. I wish that they were that cheap here in Canada.
Just in time for Halloween ! Anything limited in production should gain in value with time.
I don’t know if it will gain any value. It is just something fun for the collection. Thanks for watching and take care my friend
Yikes! $77 plus tax plus shipping and sorry just simly kinda ugly. Should be selling this stuff for $15. My first neg. opinion and have been watching for years.
I hear you. Prices are getting silly on everything. It is something different for the collection but I definitely wouldn’t buy the whole lineup of Halloween themed knives. Thanks for sharing and watching. Take care.
Are you still using this knife? If so, what is your take on it now? Thank you for this review.
I have not been using this knife. I have too many other ones to carry at the moment. I hope to get back to carrying it and a few others in the future. Thanks for taking the time to comment and watch. Cheers.
I just bought this knife. I like how it looks. I've got a Tempest made by Masters Of Defense and it's very expensive and more of a collectors item. I'd rather carry a Kershaw to use for basic things such as opening packages since I'm not worried about the knife wearing down from use over time.
The Tempest is a good looking knife. Both knives look plenty durable but I would also feel better wearing out a Kershaw knife although I think it will take you a while. Kershaw are usually pretty durable. Thanks for sharing and taking the time to watch. Cheers.
@@thecanadianedge1 I just got it today and tried it out. It's as sharp as my Tempest knife and a lot sharper than my Kershaw Cryo. I like the Cryo, but it's about twice as loud when opening compared to the Kershaw Analyst. I like the stealthy opening of Kershaw Analyst. The clip is in a good position on the Kershaw Cryo and on the Kershaw Analyst it's a little annoying to have it where I try to grip the handle, but it's still okay.
@@rwdchannel2901 I am glad to hear that you are happy with this knife and I hope that it continues to meet your needs. Happy and safe knife use. Take care
Are you an idiot?! Who will buy it at the prices you left in the description? It costs 44 dollars, but not more than a hundred!!!💩
I don't know why you would resort to name calling. Those are Canadian prices and I can not control them so there is really no need for that. I am glad that you can get this knife cheaper other places but sadly we can't here in Canada.
