Our Mission is to “Know Christ and Make Christ Known”
As followers of Christ, we share a living, daring confidence in God’s grace, which forms us as a community of faith and frees us to love and serve God and our neighbors. We live this through:
• Worship services in which we share the gospel through Word and Sacrament and song
• Educational opportunities for all ages that promote and develop spiritual maturity
• Pastoral care for those in need through prayer and caring ministries
• Fellowship experiences that celebrate our relationship with God and each other
• Community engagement through which we serve our neighbors, promote peace and justice, and seek the wellbeing of all people
St John’s has been living out our mission in Coachella Valley communities for 50 years, supporting local ministries such as FIND (Food In Need of Distribution), the Coachella Valley Rescue Mission, the Salvation Army, and Narrow Door.

I appreciate the underlying message of the stability or permanence of our "Salvation". This encourages people to believe in the "Word," not the common message today that our salvation is transient... suggesting that we earn, through works, God's approval, acceptance and salvation. He paid the price, once for all. Thank you, Pastor, for making this point so frequently.
I love that phrases: "With the helmet of Hope"... The helmet being a protective device, with "Hope" protecting us. Just an aside. I loved the reassuring message this week. : )

Most people have a sort of negative explanation as to why this commandment does not apply anymore. But I really love how you're able to put in it a positive light, explaining instead why it's not that it's gone, it's that Jesus sanctified and transformed this commandment as well! That's some good preaching right there!

This sermon provided me the most direct and clearly worded declaration of salvation,: an ETERNAL promise, through Christ's sacrifice, are we GUARANTEED His unconditional love and salvation. Correct me if I am misstating your words, Pastor. Our works do not "earn" salvation; His sacrifice alone, covered us with Grace, and we are Justified by our faith in His sacrifice covering our sins, -- covering our debt, rendering our debt "Paid in Full"." As we "Feed His sheep, " our kindnesses allow His love flow through us to draw His lambs nearer to Him. His love is an unconditional love.
