Fishing in lake mac with soft vibes. Sorry for the squashed footage. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to upload a format suitable for youtube. As i had already edited the video and saved it. And had deleted the originals (to free up space) to format it to fit youtube fullscreen. Learnt my lesson. New to the youtube editing scene. Yeah allowed. It does have signs there that the port can block access when required so if the gate is open its open to public

Booth Street pedestrian o/pass and the little foreshore park are still open to public (last I heard)....not exactly easy access or someone who's mobility challenged. Been a few years since I fished there, last time was 2019 winter for luderick.

What tide mate
Had most success leading up to high tide here
I've fished there for years (decades actually) . Is most productive near top and bottom of tides when the tidal flow eases off . Belts out there ( even 8 oz snapper leads wont hold bottom mid rising and falling tides ). I've canned the luderick there on both tides, and landed some very good 1.2m PLUS jewfish there using live baits & whole squid baits ( and from the old river side dykes when they were accessible to public ).
fished there plenty of times snaggy as bottom occasional good fishing
Time you went snorkeling and get that bloody snag out of there. Some them lures on that snag mine. Want them back.

Thanks 👍 I don’t really have any landbased spots in Lake Mac. Always on a boat/jetski. But as far as newcastle both breakwalls stockton and newcastle are a good start.And under stockton bridge landbased too. Ive noticed all the these spots are very tide dependent. As in the bite is more frequent during run in/out. Just a matter of spending time at the same spot and take note of what the tide was doing when you fished that spot when u had success. You’ll find certain spots produce fish better in run in or run out tide

Thanks mate! Yeah always see hammerheads around the outlet. They are usually tame but disturbed him having a feed. 🤣 And definitely feel way close to comfort on the jet ski than i would on a boat 😂😂
