Higgins Surf Rescue
Просмотров 53719 часов назад
Pretty long but it's for my own benefit to look back on and learn how to wipe out better next time! 30mph offshore winds and fast moving surf made it difficult to orient the kayak without letting go of it and I wasn't about to do that.

Brrrrrr.
Phil, between the wind and surf, and I imagine the water temp, that was relentless! And I know if I paddled away in those conditions with that much water in my boat, I'd have gone right over again on the next wave. 😮
The wind kept turning the kayak broadside to the waves and it would fill up with water when I was holding the toggle. It was a fun lesson, I wouldn't try it alone though.
Wow that was very nerve wrecking to watch.. but great teamwork!🎉
Great guys to paddle with for sure1
Got to love a good surf session!
Third time’s a charm!
where is this ?
Sounds like you inhaled a little sea water. Nice try rolling back up though.
If I didn't lift my big fat head up I would have rolled easily, lol.
surprising how calm the water is
That's the calmest I've ever paddled it.
Looks like a perfect venue for playing! Nice
A good variety of stuff, every time I go there it's different.
super!you did well, catch you later.bro~;)
Very foggy day.. can’t see the horizon!
Maybe 50 yards visibility, made sure to stay out of the boat channels.
Little camera adjustment at the end there, lol.
Before I saw the description, I was thinking how come there’s so many flies! They must love you!
This place looks calm but it’s quite deceptive!
Indeed, the current was 4 to 5 knots. The further back you got the waves increased in size. It was fun though.
@@philanderson3687 Looked like a lot of fun!
@@Fishaholicboy It was, but you have to keep an eye out for boat traffic and stay out of their way.
Nice trip! It’s always nice to see fellow kayakers!
Thanks, most of my trips are on the ocean. I'm just trying to get the hang of this GoPro in the easy stuff.
@@philanderson3687 which GoPro are you using?
@@Fishaholicboy The Hero 10
@@philanderson3687 ah it’s a great action camera which I use as well to record. My biggest issue is dropping it in the ocean which I have one twice before. Now I make sure I tie my camera to the deck lines and also have a suction mount. Hope it works out for you!
Looked like a great place to kayak! Did you hit the camera with your paddle? or was it the bottom? Looks like you're also using 60FPS or higher.. looks really good. I might have to experiment with different FPS.
I felt the paddle blade tap the camera, I had the camera mounted too high on a swingarm mount in front of me. 4k at 60fps. I like the stop motion look when you do a frame grab.
@@philanderson3687 Cool.. thanks for letting me know!
@@philanderson3687 Nice. I am learning how to use the GoPro through you! What was the file size?
@@debrah3185 2.6gb after splicing a couple of videos together. The 4k file sizes are pretty large.
