It's nice that this machine has more pressure than some other models and where the hot water comes out also acts as a pressure release which the smaller units don't have.

We've got a very similar model and one day the machine broke.....si we thought, we had forgotten to check the water level.... Always make sure there's enough water in the tank, the capacity is not very large.

Is this descaling? And where did i put my diaphragm?

I received mine couple days ago took about 10 days to receive and did not like it at all. Barely even tasted the coffee . Tried many methods and tasted like watered down coffee

I'll be honest, I did not clean my Breville ever since I brought it off Amazon warehouse. That was about 4 years ago. I backflushed it today and the water was murky brown and cloudy with a off putting smell. I did not realize what I was putting THAT in my espresso this entire time. Clean your machines guys!

sour will have to do with the tamp and grind size then extraction time

I think the 'extra drip tray' is actually a tray for the tools and spare parts you want to keep handy.

thank you! i can now make espresso in my hotel in Italy. I did not see you mention what happens when you move the knob to the blue side. Also, as you said, one has to move the selector knob back to the middle to stop the brewing. Thanks!
