EDC Scissor Multitool Thought
I was looking for a scissor Multitool and watched videos on the Leatherman Micra and Gerber Splice, but I saw nothing on the Defiance Scissor Multitool, so I picked up all 3 and give my thoughts.

EDC Tool Comparison - Leatherman Signal vs Hammer Multitool

Leatherman Signal amzn.to/3OoDtwN Hammer Multi-tool amzn.to/42S0ts9 Today I do a little comparison of my Father’s Day gift, a Hammer Multitool against a Christmas Gift, a Leatherman Signal. Bronco Badlands gets 1.5” KSP Wheel Spacers

In anticipation of eventually moving to 35’s, I installed the @KSPMOTOR 1.5” Spacers on my 2021 Ford Bronco Badlands. This install is fairly simple, like 5 minutes per wheel. Gave my Bronco some wheel poke, and full turn to full turn should give 35’s plenty of space. Also gives it a more aggressive look. GET YOUR DEALER TO DO IT FOR FREE. For 2007-2011 Wranglers, there is a recall on this. Check the two NHTSA Campaign Number: 16V288000 and 13V176000. My dealership was going to charge me $1600+ for a new airbag on my 2011 Jeep Wrangler. I had to ask 3 different advisors to have the "technician" check the clockspring first. They finally checked and replaced the clockspring under the recall with no cost to me.

    Defiance is a new brand to me. I have been researching and watching many multitool reviewers and never saw this before. The LM Micra is a terrible scissor. You pointed out one of its many failings. Cost is also ridiculous for its terrible performance. I am liking the defiance tool. Especially with the micro driver. You should try a cut test with the scissors on different hard to soft things. I personally use Nextool products with a low price point and great scissors.

  • @PoorWays

    I think you hit the nail on the head with the hammer multitool. I carry a Leatherman Surge but have been trying to use these types of cheap hammer multitools as first use beaters. I'm loving them. I like the larger 7" ones better even though they don't have locks. Right now they're able to deal with about 90% of everyday edc tasks. They do add extra weight so I just put them in those XL cell phone cases and clip them to my belt when I set about doing involved tasks or chores. Think they cost me about $11 but I can use them, abuse them, and even shave.

      Well it’s a week or two since posting the video above. I have used this tool daily, knife, scissors, and file portions. I had to cut zip ties off air hoses and hydraulic hoses yesterday and it was a snap, must have cut through at least 50 of them with the scissors. Used the knife to break down a ton of boxes as well. I am still happy with these scissors!

    Yeah that's disappointing with the Micra. I had the same issue on the much smaller scissors on my Leatherman Squirt PS4, they couldn't cut fine materials like cotton thread as it would just fold between the blades, and they weren't up to cutting thicker stuff like cardboard or paracord either. Then the spring broke so they're now completely useless. As it's discontinued now, if I send it in to the UK Leatherman dealership, they'll send me a Micra back. I don't know what to do and either way it's not the best outcome, unless I got lucky with a Micra and it did cut better than yours. However the Nextool Mini Flagship has similar shaped and sized scissors as the Micra and Splice, and they are excellent. I don't know if you know Maxlvledc channel but he tested a number of multitool scissors and those came out on top. Additionally the Mini Flagship has small pliers like those on the LM Squirt/Gerber Dime. I've had mine a couple of years now and I don't carry it every day, more like a few days a month as I have a lot of other EDC gear, but it can do any job I come across, within the limits of it's size. The little 2D Phillips on it is surprisingly good, way better than the one on the Squirt and presumably the Micra too.

      @philadamsadventurechannel Год назад

      Awesome! Thank you for your comment. I work in a beef plant and am always using my Leatherman Signal - but have taken this defiance scissor multitool out almost everyday these last two weeks for certain jobs. I’ve also used the tweezers on the Micra to take a splinter out. I’ll check out Maxlvledc!

      @prst99 10 месяцев назад

      I am the same as you. I enjoy the Nextool mini flagship. A bit big for a keychain but I carry it on my fanny pack with a magnetic attachment. I really like the pliers and scissors design. I use the scissors on zip ties and plastic wrapping and string or cordage. Usually it cuts it all easily. Only thing is soft plastic wrapping has been bending between the blades and not cutting. If held taut, the plastic can be cut. Still way better than a Micra.

      Verizon is terrible in my area! On my cell phone bracket, I think I have a video on that, it’s a RAM QI charger. On the Bronco I ran the cable first through the vents on the tail gate. Now I have the antenna connected to my GOBI Rack and have it along the door pillars. I have the power run under the center console, and re routed the in console 12V. I will update a video with that in a few weeks when I get home.

    I just got a set of these as well. Do you know what size Allen key you used? Not much clearance for the top screw on my rock rails

      I don’t recall the size - I have the t handle sets from Harbor Freight, I do recommend a 90° screwdriver from there, it’s a little bit ratcheting tool. Makes it a little easier!
