Earthen Opus
Израиль
Добавлен 7 апр 2021
Earthen Opus seeks to explore the inner workings of the creative process through art, literature,
storytelling, and the spoken word.
Once upon a time, something in my peripheral vision distracted me, strange reflections in my reading glasses.
It was then I began to think about the “evens”, those strange and mysterious liminal spaces.
It’s in those spaces that the “shadows” dwell and move and have their being.
Dawn, dusk....crossroads at night, graveyards, places where the waters inhabit, mirrors,
reflections, echoes, lonely and dusty roads, ruins....each of these, an “in-between”.
Art itself is a place of liminality, between seeing and “seeing”, and it is within the practice of this discipline
that one begins to realize that there is more than one way to use one's sight, and there is more than one
kind of sight.
These are the places that embody the mysteries of our glorious and magical world.
These are the places I attempt to explore.

A Babylonian Prayer to the Gods of Night
This Babylonian prayer is extispicy in it's nature.
It was done after the gods, whose domicile was in the daylight had retired.
In the night-time, invoking the deities of the night sky, the priest performed the ritual involving the process of divination utilizing the organs of the sacrificial animal, in hopes to receive a true answer to the question presented.

You’re welcome 😊
Thank you so much!
You're welcome!
thank you for sharing the prayer !
Thank you for your appreciation. Im happy to share these inspiring words with others!
This is a recitation, not a hymn. Hymns are sung. But this is not the only video I've come across doing this. All the "Orphic hymns" I've listened to are spoken voice readings or recitations.
True. It is a hymn, and I did recite it. There are many others on YT who have sung it, even in its original language. However, that is not my goal. My goal is to express it into the world, in the best manner that i am able, which is through recitation. There is dogma in regard to how it is presented. I am not bound by that.
i don't understand Image thing im i suppose to draw them? If so can i copy the images you've shown?
Hi! The images i've "created" are done with A.I. They are based upon descriptions in each passage that I recited. None of these are literal, they are only "fanciful" in order to help the visual flow of the "story". They help to give some sort of a clue to how an image "might be" made. If you feel inspired by them, feel free to use them for ideas, but I would appreciate it if you would not copy them verbatim.
@@earthenopus333 oh ok thanks !

Nice one
Thanks for watching
Why isnt this in latin
Because the reading I have done here is taken verbatim from Thomas Taylors translation.
And I do the same hymns to the planets as well as the elemental prayers too Nice to meet you
Wondeful! They are a great daily/weekly part of practice. So nice to meet you as well!
This is pretty cool cuz I must have read this out loud many times but never heard anyone actually speak it out loud like this Hearing another human being say this prayer adds a whole dynamic to it 🎉🎉🎉🎉 🙏
I really appreciate your comment! Thank you!
ZEUS not jupiter
The reading (including the title) is verbatim of Thomas Taylors translation (the translation was approved by the Committee For The Greek Religion), I made no changes, so you'll have to take that up with him, though he may be a little difficult to make contact with.
