Applied Technical Diving
Филиппины
Добавлен 19 апр 2019
Applied Technical Diving and Marine Solutions came about when Jackie Genuino and Juan Naval, out of their passion for diving, teaching, and exploration decided to create an avenue where they could share their experiences with other like minded divers out there. In this day and age where card collection and bragging rights has become the primary focus of many divers, this channel hopes to inspire people to a higher calling. That those certifications have an end goal not to be forgotten alongside the desire to respect and conserve the places we visit.

Scuba Diving Safety: Pinched Hose Gas Denial
This post is for educational and informational purposes.
Context:
During a training dive in almost 30 meters on a sidemount regulator switch, we had a gas denial/interruption coming from one tank!
Being that the regulators were fresh out of the box, we went through a process of elimination with the seller of the regs but had no definitive answer as to how this could happen. After thinking it through, it came down to a simple pinched hose.
To be fair, a quote from the manufacturer's manual on this particular hose model:
"Never over-flex your hose. Never fold the hose back onto itself. If your hose is too long, you may loop it and secure it in place with a section of rubber tubing (such as the...

Final resting place of the ill-fated Oceanic Explorer 3
Просмотров 2753 года назад
In the early morning of the 26th of October, Typhoon Quinta enveloped Batangas Bay, a well known hiding spot for large marine vessels seeking refuge from extreme weather conditions. With massive swells and zero visibility, a few large ships, including some Roll-On/Roll-Off Ferries became victims to groundings. At approximately 7 am, the typhoon took the Oceanic Explorer 3, along with one of its...
Technical Scuba Diving: Fast Doubles Backmount Valve Shutdown Procedure by InnerSpace Explorers
Просмотров 2,5 тыс.3 года назад
InnerSpace Explorers promotes no-nonsense DIR training. One point of much debate is our Valve Shutdown Procedure. We don't promote this as a drill per se, but a quick solution to valve failures. Minus the flow check, the entire procedure is completed in less than 30 seconds. Here it's demonstrated with pace, but you can imagine how fast Jackie can perform this. Have some questions? Message us b...

The Back Kick/Reverse Kick/Backwards Kick

Tools of the trade. Jackie Genuino demonstrating the Back Kick to one of our Recreational Level 1 students. Although not really part of the entry level class, we introduce students to this propulsion for several reasons, one of them being precise positioning. Her demo shows them what they can achieve in time, with patience, with the right mindset, base technique and instruction. The kick has be...
Scuba Diving: Before you throw out the SPG
Просмотров 4043 года назад
Most often divers correlate a non-functioning SPG to one that needs to be replaced. In truth, there are some possibilities that could "fake" a bad SPG. Interrupted air flow from the first stage regulator to the SPG has to be checked as a possible reason (in this case, an HP hose). This video is for demonstration purposes. Although this procedure can be performed by anyone with some technical in...
How to Assemble a Backplate and Wing DIR Tecline Peanut
Просмотров 25 тыс.3 года назад
I have come across too many divers adopting a backplate and wing setup but not really knowing how to set them up nor adjust them by themselves. Often I see the staff in the local dive shop setting up the equipment. As I'm a firm believer in establishing some form of intimacy with gear, I don't agree with the practice for many reasons. Perhaps the biggest one being that the divers don't really k...
SMB Deployment

A dSMB deployment with left hand priority keeps the right hand free for any emergency donation. At InnerSpace Explorers' we teach this in our entry level classes as a required safety skill. We always deploy a bag before we break the surface.

Here's coverage of our underwater exploration of Blue Water Cave's Olympic pool. This was part of a joint exploration/training exercise during the 19th Philippine Speleological Society National Cave Congress composed of various groups from around the country. We train so we can explore, and we explore so we can train better. #InnerSpace Explorers
