    Why do people crate your dog. We dont do it to children, instead we just make the house safe and train the dog. If your dog destroy something in the house, you don't even have to hit them. Bops on the butt is fine, thats how mother dogs school their kids. Seriously if you need to crate your dog then you're not responsible enough to own a dog. Crates are fine for transportation but using one in a house is for losers. An ya it sucks losing a favorite shoe or something else that you touch often. But thats kids. If your dog's continually tearing up your house it means you're doing something wrong most likely not giving it enough exercise. 90% of the time its bad training in the human, not the dog.

      My puppy goes in the crate at night because shes not potty trained fully. Crates are for training, not punishment, potty training takes time and it encourages them to hold it because they dont want to pee on themselves, if she wakes up at night with no crate she’ll pee on the floor, she can ask us to go and we’ll take her out, it also helps when we eat so she doesn’t jump on us. Me and my sister have school and my dad has work and Riley cant be left unattended especially home alone we put her in her crate when we are gone.

    Be mindful that puppies can easily catch parvo. I highly recommend waiting until they are fully vaccinated, then wait about a month after their last vaccine so they can build up immunity, also talk to your vet and get a health evaluation. The LAST thing you want to happen to your newest family addition is for them to get parvo, it is very hard and expensive to treat and a lot of puppies die from it even with treatment. If your dog or puppy starts acting weird, vomiting, having weird feces, drooling or any other weird things then TAKE THEM TO THE VET ASAP! A lot of people try to wait it out to see if their dog will get better, then their dog dies. Dogs, cats, reptiles and other pet animals are not like us, if they get sick they NEED to go to the vet. They have sensitive immune systems. Some people think their dog is just having a "bad day" until it is too late. Please regularly take your dog to the vet for checkups, exams, bloodwork, xrays, fecal samples and every damn test they can run. Most of the time you won't know your dog is sick until it's too late to treat. My 1st service dog had to be euthanized earlier this year because of a tumor that grew in her stomach and ruptured and we didn't know about it. She was 12.5 years old and she was my best friend, I got her when I was 5 or 6 and she was my best friend. I wish I would have gotten xrays and ultrasonds of her yearly so we could have caught it before it happened. But then again, I'm glad that it happened so suddenly so she didn't suffer. She was only in pain for a few hours which I'm very thankful for. We cremated her so she will always be with us.

    Quick question, but would it be good to start socilizing in public (pet friendly for me as there's a lot of places that are pet friendly around me) a week or two after the puppy comes home? My puppy comes home a month or two before I go to college and I want to make sure they're at least socilized and semi-housebroken before we go on campus. EDIT: Thank you for the advice from everyone! Unfortunatley I had to surrender the dog due to finding out that the breeder lied about the first round of shots given. But, I will still use this as a future standing point for when I do decide to try again in the future!

      @mobstercrow7515 5 месяцев назад

      Wait until 1 month after they are fully vaccinated before you let them on the floor. You can hold them, use a stroller, or bring some cleaning wipes and a bed to put inside of a cart after you clean it. Never let them on the ground, not even on concrete, parvo can live over a year on some surfaces. Bring pee pads and a bag to put them in during short outings, place the pee pad on the ground for them to potty, do not let them leave the pee pad, then pick up the puppy and put the pee pad in the bag and throw it away. Parvo is very expensive! They should have 4 rounds of vaccines.

    It’s better to not bring a dog that isn’t vaccinated or even good on a leash to a non pet friendly places. Just a tip. I have a 7 month old and she didn’t go into places until she was four months old. When she was basically fully vaccinated. The dog should know basic obedience pretty well before going into public as a service dog in training. Just my opinion or advice. Not meaning it to come across as rude or mean

      Hi and thank you for your comment. I get this type of response often when people see I take young puppies out for socialization training. Before continuing I would like to add a disclaimer that I am now a professional trainer and still stand by by my decision to socialize puppies as early as possible as long as it is being done safely. Puppies have a window of time when they are young that is a prime time to introduce them to so many different things in their world and environment. Properly socializing a puppy safely will help to ensure you have a well rounded puppy that will grow up to be a well rounded non-reactive dog. In addition, it also allows for better training opportunities and smoother PA training sessions as the puppy grows. I will hopefully be making a video in the next couple weeks showing that Trinket at 9 months of age is almost completely trained as a SD (I have added a few tasks due to new recent medical diagnosis and we need to get back into PA training after taking time off due to illness and COVID). I do respect people’s decisions to keep their puppies home until fully vaccinated, I just don’t agree with waiting until after the puppy’s prime socialization window.

      @nataliechristensen420 2 года назад

      @@trinketoflove9992 no I completely agree with you. I was just saying thank you for taking your sdit to a pet friendly place. Because at this time in the video he doesn’t know any tasks in order to go into non pet friendly. As far as socializing. I am the same way. The younger the better. I started socializing as soon as at got mgmm mine which was 10 weeks. We did pet friendly places. I was just saying there are people out there that think they got the puppy now they can automatically go into non pet friendly places. Which it takes a lot of time and training to do that.

      Thank you so much for your comment! In regards to socialization, we worked on quite a bit; I started taking her to different pet friendly locations the first full day she was home while she was in a stroller (I made sure to choose ones that were quite to start with). I got her enrolled in a puppy class at 9 weeks and put her in a 30 minute puppy play group. I also worked on desensitizing her to different sounds I found on Spotify (Amazon music and RUclips work as well). We also worked on getting used to the hairdryer, vacuum, fan, air purifier (anything that made loud noises in the house) I made sure to give her lots of treats or play time so she built a positive association with each location, item, and sound.
