After hearing Enrico CARUSO, Beniamino GIGLI, Gianni RAIMONDI, Salvatore FISICHELLA, Lucianno PAVAROTTI, Leo SLEZAK... i can only say that he is far away behind all them. For me he is not a master of "Bel Canto" i never liked how he sing and be older don't help him as i hear, it becomes more and more affrous. I don't mean i can do the same but for me he is a just a guy who learned well his singing lessons he doesn't have what Gigli or Caruso had this thing special that makes say " he is a great Tenor" Then it is just my humble opinion from what i hear.
Especially. your comparison of him with great singers (and not with modern singers) is a plus for him! ))) Paradox, right?)))) Alanya is a master and follows the greats, no matter whether you personally like him or not.🙂

Hi Marc. I was there that night, December 2nd, 2015 at the Vienna State Opera House. Roberto Alagna was superb. Martina Serafin was great as well. Unfortunately, she broke her leg as she jumped off the set in the final scene. Thanks for sharing this video, great memories!
