I was born, raised, and still live in Berlin.
I have family in Green Lake, I visit Berlin often
Great video
Thanks for watching!
Np
No problem!
Great video. What type of camera system? Mounted to what kind of car and where?
2001 chevy suburban, gopro10/1 mounted on the center line ~5in/12cm above the windshield. Gopro suction mount with two 1ft/30cm double snap hooks mounted one on each side from suction mount to roof rails. Thanks for watching!
@@thewanderluster470 Thank you!
i love america
I hate driving at night #1. i get sleepy, #2, the Saturday night potential DUI drivers. I was driving home on the Dan Ryan to 95th. I closed my eyes just for a moment at 79th and when i opened my eyes, i had just passed 95th street. I don't drive anymore at night unless its an emergency. 😮
Born & bred in Chicago. 1/4 away from Chicago State University. I know the city and subs like the back of my hand. Quite frankly, if Chicago's politics became more for the people, it'd be more enjoyable. 😊
Cool. Thanks.
Man I live in Baltimore I-895 I-695 I thought it was worse thing ever, but I road thru I-90 to get to ID Rexburg made a pit stop in Chicago IL for some Harold chicken got on the express way omg it was a nightmare riding thru Kennedy Express way cars doing 90-95mph driving thru that expressway made me more better as a defense driver and more focus at the same time
I was under the 2 XD
I love the Kennedy Expressway more than Dan Ryan! Mainly because Kennedy is elevated, so you can always see the skyline from very far away, while on Dan Ryan, it's not elevated, so seeing the skyline from far away is a little hard. The skyline just looks so much better from Kennedy Expressway. I live so far away from downtown, so I never get a view of the skyline. But what a great skyline!
nice

Das the ghetto and you be driving a big ass truck manes
Thank you for this video ! I grew up in Chilton, Wisconsin and graduated from UW Oshkosh. Many miles driven in Fond du Lac around the lake and also shopping at the mall. You should go up highway 151 to the stop off on a clear day to see the view toward Oshkosh, Appleton and Fond du Lac. I live in flat Indiana now and miss the rolling landscape of Wisconsin. Thanks again for reminding me of the beauty to be found in Wisconsin !
no gunfire? no hookers?
Very nice indeed. Video is perfect. Are you using action cam?
Yes, GoPro 11, their mount as well, I also tie it down. I use the media mod wich allows me to power the cam directly from the car with a chord. 256gb mem. card which is about 8 hours of filming. Plan my routers before. Gave ya the long answer!
@thewanderluster470 nice . It's good set up. I appreciate the detail . Keep your videos coming !
At 21:22 we pass by the Steak & Egger on the left, which is the cutoff to Central Avenue.
Ah, the Blue *Angles*, so elegant.
I'm listening to Moby's Not Worried At All on the album 18. I wish someone with footage of encampments in sub west wacker/south wacker drive would include a backdrop of One of These Mornings from that album, because I recently lost a friend to an OD who was discovered the next morning (on Wacker in a tent with two other people). It was a year ago, but I just have been really going through it.
Man... this bring back memories. i live in the south suburbs and whenever i go to the city i am always amazed by the beautiful skyline. sears tower, 311 south Wacker it's just amazing.
Good cruising.
That is the Gulf of Mexico. Not the Atlantic Ocean.
The Gulf is part of the Atlatic Ocean
I've been to Chicago!
This helps a lot because I’m a delivery driver and this area can be a nightmare all the towers docks are down here and your video helped me a lot thank you 🙏🏻
Nice!👍
Backrooms, the Wacker Rooms.
“Wacker rooms” sounds like a euphemism for my teenage bedroom.
I would have never believed it... if I didn't see it for myself... just east of the Airport to just south of Downtown in less than 10 minutes with zero traffic! Or could it be... there has been that many people that have moved out? Speaking for myself... I fit in the latter category. I guess that happens when there's no jobs and a city that has gone to pot. But never fear... there's always the Cardinals and Budweiser... eh?
it doesnt really look all that downtown-ish. but i guess theres not many cities like chicago and nyc. although its pretty cool their mls stadium is right downtown.
Agreed, only NYC and Chicago have large dense urban cores in the US. Overall, I liked STL

Damn, thanks for this!

Dan Ryan…expressway from hell. Grew up in Bridgeport, not far from Comisky….back in the 70’s and 80’s. Avoided the interstates at all costs. Moved a long time ago…they look improved some. Don’t get back like I used to so, I’m thanking for the share. Moved to Los Angeles and if you can believe it…the freeways there are even worse. LA isn’t a true grid city like Chicago….you have to have a car there, but not Chicago. Miss the city sometimes….it was nothing but fun in the 80’s 💯
6:00 traffic ends
Smallest national park in the country! Very cool greetings from Pennsylvania❤
Driven by it many of times, just never been able to stop down by it 😢😢😢
I had a nightmare last night, I was driving in the Chicago area and there was no road construction.
They add two interchanges at 147th street for the northbound entrance and the Southbound exit .
Such a gorgeous city, unfortunately elected officials have allowed it to be overrun by thugs.
I'm from Detroit and Detroit will be my #1 city forever, but Chicago's expressway views cannot be topped.
What, no visit to the mythical place known as Lower Lower Wacker?
Its in a separate video, i plan to do more down there as well
Nice video, beautiful Chicago. Greetings from São Paulo City, Brazil!
Big city, ain't too pretty Big city, nice and loud Big city, don't want no pitty Big city, its one big crowd
Nice Downtown however the rotting infrastructure and garbage surrounding the city is an eyesore. Even Cleveland looks more aesthetically pleasing.
Yeah, we really do need to invest in our infrastructure. With that said, you clearly haven't been to LA or NYC. Chicago is far behind them in terms of homlessness and dirtiness. Small cities like Cleveland get affected later by these things compared to large cities like Chicago
I live in New Berlin Wisconsin not the same thing.
Dolton to Downtown via the Dan Ryan Expressway, Thank You! I drove this route in the morning on my way to work for 5 years 40 years ago, and have long since moved from the Chicago area to another state. Rush hours were TRULY an interesting and often frustrating experience.
Get out of the left lane if you're not passing as slower vehicle.
Back seat driving from the youtube comments
@thewanderluster7092 Yep. Also, common sense and courtesy to other drivers.
Aww well arent you such a nice boy
I remember getting out of there the tunnel
Thanks so much for this fascinating tour! A lot of the roads don't seem to have much traffic. I'd love to do a bicycle ride down there. Do you have any advice for how I might plan a route, so that I get to ride through a lot of the interesting lower-level areas, but I don't run into streets with high car traffic?
Stick the area around lower Michigan and lower lower wacker. Start under St. Regis Hotel. You can access lower lower wacker from there. That would be a good starting point, just avoid lower wacker as that turns into a more highway like road west of Michigan
I'm wondering if I somehow ended up on lower lower wacker drive the first time I ever drove into Chicago. I was 21 and had no idea where I was going. I'd gone many times with my paren't but I never really payed attention to my surroundings while we drove through. When I was driving, GPS took me UNDERGROUND then promptly stopped working. That was so scary. I ended up driving around in circles and found myself in a random parking lot underground. A homeless person offered us directions in exchange for money. That was wild.
I've taken I-94 into the Chicago loop maybe 40-50 times and I'll tell you why this video must be fake: The driver was moving consistently more than 50% of the time and didn't experience a dozen near hits or dodge a single actual bullet. Driving into Chicago has never been anything short of a literal fucking nightmare.
