Nice car. Shame about the commentary. 😢
What's your MPG range? I want to do similar with my 01 Dodge Ram, though thinking couple the front suspension and outer axle assembly from a Tundra or Sequoia.
Looks like 35 to 40 mpg, nice!
More like 30mpg. If I drove with fuel consumption on my mind I could get 35mpg
@@hoopieshotrods3105 Thanks for the scoop on, directly from you. Ever thought about adding one of the MG's, like MG2 onto the rear end differential kind of like the disc brake designs are mounted on? Seems would be an easier project to add as a motor assist for accelerating and also to use for regenerative braking. Whether tapping into the battery pack or adding a dedicated pack. Was one of the thoughts I have going on in my mind regarding keeping the 01 Ram rear end installed closer to stock. Was thinking can add additional NiMH pack(s) as well or if dedicating the rear end MG, can add an additional lithium pack since starting to see those Volt and others around for cheap seems.
subbed... I'm doing an engine swap but this is beyond insane to me. A body swap is a game changer. A new coyote engine would be a nice final touch
I want to do this!
This is incredible! Do you have any write-ups for how you were able to wire this up to get it to run properly?
So what year of vic did you use ? And how wide are the 52 ford's compared to a 54-56 sedan delivery ?
Is there any chance you can up date this project?
Phenomenal!!! Thank you Does the car heat up at all on warm days? Is there sufficient cooling with those little ghia holes? Thank you.
Did you put the 235 inline 6 in the Prius?
I'm uncertain about your surrender to ignorance on the possibilities. However you executed a project cemetery. Grade in Mt home 89% to much learning and engineering left out. Socially you have given insite so it's a 99.9% for no cited sources. This is where you either shine or are blocked in my world until I pass
How much lighter does the car weigh with the Karmann Ghia body on it?
You're cool enough to make a nice camper rig out of a Ford pickup but you fell for quarantine bullshit scam.
Love this project. Any updates on the 52?
What happened to this cool soul?
👍
I have a 48 Angela thinking about doing a body swap just kind of wondering what would fit under it do you have any idea thanks
Can I spec to you directly on your build? please.. I am building a similar truck..
this is NOT a Crown Vic
I've dealt with big block Mopars for years & i must say from the looks of the rust in those cylinders, you guys did a fine job even getting all the pistons out (breaking only 1 ?). Good job.
Great progress, thanks for the updated video!!!!
Cut the rear fender on the horizontal body line to flare out the fender an fill the gap with sheet metal. Looking good.
Great tire tool. Where did you get it? Or home built?
Never mind, HF
No clamps on front lift point dangerous apart from that grest
How are you going to overcome the track width distance between the crown Vic chassis and the body?
Yeah I with you that bed to short? Also didn't fit the style however it is a rat rod so you can do whatever you want
Remember, Loud pipes saves lives...
Heading to Pumpkin Run myself this year. Hope everything goes smooth for you gettin the car ready.
I tried to go that year. But got right outside the show and the car overheated and blew a radiator hose. Ripped clear down the side. Gonna try to go again this year. Lol fingers crossed.
When does it get a prius drivetrain?
Have you guys thought about running a 98-02 rear axel? there like 4 inches narrower .
Nice to see this thing get some attention!
Omg this is exactly what I want to do so bad. I want a 1956 apache powered by a Prius, I don't care about the sound I want to be able to drive it for work everyday and I drive 300 miles per day so I couldn't afford to drive a truck like this otherwise.
Okay it's been a year you tell people to work on their projects where are you at on this one?
i worry about pitting and hard gashes
you should sleeve it
What year? I just picked up a 73 for free last week and scored a 440 forged crank for $100 today. The build has begun. Pre 73 blocks were more desirable I believe but they are all great
Hopefully it found a good home. Getting harder to find 400's. Only made for 8 years... Has the largest bore of any mopar big block.
i 've one ,in quebec ,canada .one of the last produced in 1983 ,fiberfab was sold to cmc in 1984 . i start the project this year .
Can I do the same for a 1956 Fairlane
Cool 👍🏻....how do you title a car for a project like this? Nevermind, just read an old response...awesome!
What kind of gas mileage do you think you'll get?
I get about 30 mpg give or take.I've been driving it for a few years.
Lots of work. How many times were you told ‘just use an S10 frame’,the universal fix it that fits under every old car ever built?
Hi I'm doing a 54 mercury 2dr sedan I want to do a swap any sugestions thank you
@@anthonymaniz9896 not really sure. Been researching for a later model chassis with same wheel base,so far the closest I’ve come is a 77 Pontiac full size sedan that has a half inch longer wheelbase, but has a wider track than I’d like. I don’t want to cut the wheel wells to fit the body on,so looking at my ‘82 Malibu chassis, which is shorter and narrower, but could stretch the frame 7.5 inches to match my Ford. Track width is quite close according to what I’ve found online.
Oh now I get it! I get why you didn't just weld the front end just incase ypu have to get to any of the mechanical parts under the fron as the hood only open up part of the mechanical mess
So I'm confused on why you had to thread the apillers instead of just welding then however from the other comment I'm gathering its because the one piece front end makes that difficult still a bit foggy but I guess I will watch and see. I'm sure you know way better then I would lol for sure.
Digging this build for sure man
Man I really wish your vida were longer but I do appreciate your work you are doing great
It's looking amazing. So why did you cut the top was it just to make it easier to deal with the front and rear separately?
Wide body it!
Nice go cart, hey give it a bit of suspension and a cage and you got one cool utv side by side. Go up against a RZR 1000
Ya you really have to chop up the prius I wouldn't of thought the Karmann Ghia was so much more narrow then the Prius
