Our Completed Custom Bally/Midway Tapper Build
This is a completely custom build of the cocktail version of Tapper. This is not an original cabinet but it's pretty close! Not running original hardware but we are using a Bitkit 2 which is the next best thing in my opinion. The bit kit is all FPGA and no emulation so for us this works out fantastic! All things considered I think it came out great. Enjoy!

In this video we pick up a Virtual Pool arcade game made by Incredible Technologies. I could not find any videos on RUclips or anywhere else online showing the gameplay for this game so I wanted to upload a video of the cabinet and gameplay. This is a prototype cabinet. Only 6 of these were ever produced. They were put on location in a Chicago land bar. I only know of one other one still in exi...

Swimmer was released in arcades of July of 1982. Swimmer was made by Tehkan and licensed to Centuri. We were waiting a long time to source all of the little bits necessary to build this and it took about 18 months total. I described how it all came to be to finish this project and my son will provide a good bit of gameplay since he is the current high scorekeeper of this game. We hope you enjoy...

Cool video! Is that a Mac SE laying on the floor nearby?!
I'm going to have to say I think so 😂. I do know that it's an old Mac and it still works!
Love the changes you made to this cocktail! Too bad you couldn't have the beer pulls for the controllers. Also love the "Reserved" tent. Well done!
Thank you! Yeah I tried like hell to see if I can make it work but no go unfortunately 😪.
The beer pull tabs instead of the joysticks . ADD so much to that game...
I know it! I really wish I could have incorporated them. But due to the limited size of the panels I was SOL. Major bummer for sure.
Awesome👍 Always play that at my one local spot. Not any good but still fun 😅
Not any good yet either but If we keep practicing we'll get there 😂. The tapper at your local spot is at a upright or a table?
@@kazelasarcade It's an upright.
Diggin it! Looking into one of these for the home arcade one day. Cheers! 🍻 Are the game(s) easy to add to the board?
The bit kit 2 gives you a couple of options to load games. You can do Bluetooth or you can do it over Wi-Fi. It is amazingly easy to load the games on there. It is such an amazing board that the developer is always constantly adding support for it.
@kazelasarcade Sound great! I appreciate the info. Definitely looking into a board or two. Huge thanks!
Where are you located. Id love to bring a few of my arcade pro tested and create and run and host can A.C.E.S. ARCADE events for you.
Hi, located in Michigan north of Detroit.
We:ve had so much left to sing.
Finished one of these last year. Thinking of doing another.
It's a great game! Definitely one of my favorites. Did you sell the first one or you just wanting a second one for a friend or something?
🤔👍nice
Thank you! 👊
I wa legit just thinking to myself “how cool would it be to have a pay phone set up in my place as a land line?” And sure enough, boom. RUclips video. 😂
I love when new people come over and they don't expect it to work but sure enough it's fully operational 😂. The best part is when there's an incoming call and the phone rings and no one expects it.
Hi, I'm restoring the same arcade cabinet and need to replace the bottom fuse... how many amps is it? thanks
This is my favourite arcade home tour yet. Awesome collection and beautifully presented. Loving your taste and choice of cabs.
Thank you that's a wonderful to hear! I love when people appreciate a decent setup. I'm glad you enjoyed!
A lot of different Stern games came in that same cab. Any signs of what the original paint color was? That could be a clue.
I might go there next weekend. Hopefully I can find some original paint
Any idea where I can find a schematic or other service info for these machines?. I have a non working one.
I have not been successful in locating one unfortunately.
At lease they tell the truth about the size of there arcades Lol
That's for sure
🤔interesting!!!😃i like that!!👍🏼👍🏼
Pretty cool for what it is!
nice find!
Thanks, I saw it about 1 month before the Galloping Ghost trip. Nobody snagged it up so I made him an offer. It will look great next to my Silver Strike Bowling and Bags.
Awesome man! I have a few of those Quarter Arcades. The Space Invaders is great. Thanks for sharing.
I'm aware of these exist but I have not done any research on them. I did get wind of a burger time being released in the next few months.
@@kazelasarcade Yeah! Looking forward to that. Got my pre-order in 😎
Awesome glad you like it
Thanks for sharing. Not my cup of tea, but for what it is, it looks pretty well done!
Great times~! glad were all there to enjoy!
You did great on that deal.
Thanks, I get lucky now and again
That crowd was crazy.. I’ve never seen so many people there for a Monday mystery game… crazy. I am playing tinstar around the 30 minute mark of the video. This crowd was nuts..
Yeah it was wild! But what a milestone!
Got-Ya is awesome! I have been working on upping my score in it.. I’m third on the card over at GGA. That game can be tough.. very fun.
I definitely need more practice. Congrats on getting third on the scorecard!
Nice pick up I wouldn’t mind having one of those
Definitely one you don't see everyday!
Yeah, I have never seen one
Can be played be played with mame if you have the rom and chd for it.
That's good to know! I would love for others to be able to play it too!
So awesome that your son is enjoying the hobby as well
It's been an absolute joy to bond with him like this over the years!
How do you fit 1000 games?? I can't even imagine how's that like. Games have a hiscore list on top of each cab? That's really cool!
He has done so many expansions already It is unbelievable! And he's not done to expanding. There's always plans to improve and make the arcade better in more ways than one. The high score list on top of each game is a must for a place like this! It's so cool to be able to compete with fellow gamers for bragging rights.
Love that place. I'm 12 hours away so don't get to go too often. Thanks for sharing the unveiling 👍
Yeah 12 hours is a big hike that's for sure! Thanks for watching!
Where are you guys out of? I grew up in Palatine… not too far from GGA. Enjoy your videos. Love your Guzzler cab you did (I’ve told you that before!).
@@glenjust630 we are located about 30 minutes north of Detroit Michigan. Thanks for watching!
Super cool thanks so much for filming and sharing. If some really wants to jump ahead the 1000th game reveal starts around the 32:45 minute mark, but I would encourage you to watch the walk through. It's really impossible to capture the scope of Galloping Ghost but this is the best video I've seen that attempts it. Super cool seeing your son up at the -censored name of 1000th game- after the unveiling!
Thanks for your nice comments and the timestamp for someone who really wants to skip ahead. My son was super excited to play the game and he was one of the first. He was the third person to step up and play it. I waited until the crowd thinned out and I played a bunch of consecutive games. Not easy let me tell you but super cool to play such a rare gem.
That's so awesome that you guys were able to get a STARCADE! neon sign. I sure hope that show will be rebooted one day!
@@Michael_Knight823 search RUclips for a show called Arcade Animals. It is very similar to starcade.
Awesome pickup. Been watching it on Marketplace for a while. Can’t wait to see the conversion
Thanks, same here! I finally decided to message him and he is a friend of the channel and gave me a superb deal. I've got some other projects I need to wrap up before I get to this one but it will happen.
The problem is that is not what is advertised. It may be kind of cool, but it's seriously lacking on the lighting and detail that's in those social media posts.
The first thing I noticed was the lighting was not the same. At the time of filming I didn't know 100%, but I checked on it after the fact. You're definitely right about that
@@kazelasarcade More than that, the cabinets and control details are wood vs. the lighted cabinets and what appears to be plastic controllers. There's no buttons on the cabinets either (well, they're painted on instead of tactile.) I'm guessing the one you got was about $35 to $40. I saw what I believe would be the actual piece for about $300 on Etsy. At least, I hope it's the actual piece for that price. Either way I have to pass on it. I've just started building book nooks and $300 is beyond my range while the $40 one looks too cheap compared to the other options out there. I'm glad you posted this though. Saved me from buying the cheap one and being disappointed!
@AcidicHotwire paid $40 shipped for mine. For that price I'm not complaining. Definitely not worth 300
Thank you Pete for fixing the audio on my Space Invaders Deluxe. Great friendly service. Cheers. Chris
Glad to help
Kick had a design flaw where you could jam the balloon against the wall and make it go horizontal. You could get great high scores with that technique.
@@glanyan5462 I'll have to research that! Thanks for the tip!
@@kazelasarcade If you enjoy playing the game, it might be better if you don't know that trick. After my friends and I learned it (in the 1980s I think), it took some of the fun out of the game. Maybe look into later if the game, as is, becomes boring.
Wow I initially thought the old marquee was perfectly fine... but the repo really is awesome. Great graphics. Cool video.
Yeah he really did a great job on it!
Pacman with race cars! I'm blown away, as I honestly never heard of this Route 16 game till I saw the video. Then again, I was only like 2 years old when this game was released, so go figure. The game play really does remind me a lot of classic Pacman. Nice how the checkered flags act like power pellets, definitely inspired by Pacman for sure.
Yeah definitely a unique game for sure! This game came out on my birth year. I've never played it growing up. I only learned about it in the last few years. One just happened to pop up in my area so I had to have it!
Another game for the "not that popular game collection" Awesome! Guzzler, Mad Planets, Swimmer and Route16. I love them all!
Hey thanks! That's the kind of stuff I'm looking for now. I'm still looking for other common ones but mostly the rare ones catch my eye. All of the games you mentioned above will never leave the collection!
I was 10 years old when I played this in a local pool hall in 1981. The game always stuck with me but there was never a way for me to play this at home. When I would describe Route 16 to people, they always thought that I was talking about Rally X. I was so happy in the late 90’s when MAME emulated this. Anyway, great find!
Yeah I don't think it was ever ported to anything. MAME really change the game and helped tremendously in this hobby. Route 16 is definitely much harder than Rally X. I enjoy both games very much though. Thanks for sharing your story!
That artwork inside is amazing! I've never seen that before. Would love to see that up close. Cabinet really cleaned up well. The bottom cut out looks just fine painted.
Yeah that artwork is definitely unique! That bottom cut doesn't bother me so much anymore. It's not like you can find this game everywhere. So I'm going to keep it as original as possible.
I like the setup of the arcade i subscribed last week
Thank you! We appreciate it!
OMG I need this! Any way to get the original ringer to work???
My phone had an electronic ringer installed from the factory. So what I did was I sourced an old rotary desk phone from the day and harvested the mechanical ringer. I put the mechanical ringer assembly inside the payphone and desoldered the electronic ringer that came with the conversion kit. I then soldered in the mechanical bell and now it sounds really good! Much better than that electronic type.
Looks like a funny game, gz on that score!
It's a fantastic game! Gets a ton of play over here. None of my friends ever heard of it before seeing mine. At least the ones that are not in the hobby 😂
WOW! I opened my eyes and took a trip back to the 80s just watching this! What a great selection of games, including some of my all time favorites like OutRun and Pole Position. I love the artwork on the original Mario Bros cab.
Thanks for the kind words! Outrun by far was my number one favorite game in the day. There was an Outrun Deluxe near my house that I played all the time. Most of my coins went to that particular game. That same arcade had pole position also but to me in that day it was a quarter eater. I HATED it back then! But now I play it more than outrun and I love it!
@@kazelasarcade Oh I remember having to wait in line at the arcades to play OutRun, it was really that popular. Pole Position was a tricky game, yet I was really good at when I was a kid. Too bad it feels impossible to play in MAME. You really need a decent steering wheel to play that game in MAME because the steering is so incredibly sensitive with a controller.
Seen this game on Starcade
That was where I first saw it myself!
Yeah, great cab for the Bitkit. Maybe you can add a button on the left side so you can play Mouse Trap like it is. Joy on the right, buttons on the left. (I play it that way)
Great idea 💡
Lovely collection of games!
Thank you!
I was just out that way earlier this week. Good finds.
Thanks, got them all working
I have a pi position downloaded the files to sd card but I’m installing a lcd screen and have the wires hooked up to the monitor converter board and it says no signal on monitor but the board is flashing green and a solid red. Is something corrupted or maybe screen not hooked up right? I have the monitor wires hooked into same corresponding colors, and yellow I’m guessing sync into yellow, but it’s actually brown on the sync wire
I wish I knew how to advise you. I ended up selling my pi position and found someone who could repair my original board. I hope you get it figured out!
@@kazelasarcade I have a original board who fixed yours
