    I messed up and took that back part out but was never able to get it back on. Springs kept overlapping eachother. How’d you get yours back on? Fighting like hell to get mine back on

      @@elvisalvarado7137 If you can, release the tension on the spring and let it go back to full extension in your hand, then take the grease tube out of the metal sleeve if it’s not out already, then stick the plunger and spring back in the metal sleeve and it should be a lot easier to thread the end back on. Then you can have the metal sleeve to hold on too to retract the plunger and spring.

    I've been battling my Honda BF40, converted it from tiller steer to console steer and have been listening to that stupid beeper going off non-stop and the gauge not reading properly. Now have a "Honda" gauge coming, thank you for the good info!

    Thank you so much! I looked everywhere in manuals to find it, no luck. You took me right to it. Can these be adjusted or just removed and replaced? When mine is fully up, gauge does not indicate fully up. Not sure what to do after that…

    • @jakes.8159
      @jakes.8159 8 месяцев назад

      I’m not sure if they can be adjusted, I just replaced mine since it was a 2006 just to rule out that wasn’t the issue. That still didn’t fix mine and I had already replaced the gauge as well with a Faria gauge. I recently found out that Honda is the only outboard manufacturer that uses a “Variable Voltage” to send its signal to the gauge where Mercury, Yamaha, Suzuki & Evinrude use a “Variable Resistance from Ground” for its signal. So only a gauge made specifically for Honda outboards will read. I talked to Faria customer support and they only make a few for Honda so you have to get one of those specific ones from Faria or order a Honda trim gauge which is what I did and I’m waiting on it to come in to see if that fixes it.

    You are not suppose to remove the back cap when changing tubes. You just unthread the front end where it attaches to the gun.
