I think the reason why the Spriggan fights don't feel as dangerous as Tartaros is because they're human.. humans are people they're not ruthless killing machines like they want to show, like look at Brandish she shows a funny side to her, Dimaria as well + Ajeel too whereas the Tartaros villains are yknow demons with little to no empathy and so much hatred for mankind.

Here is a short general idea: They are going through this awful afterlife process every time they reincarnate which is what the River Lethe is for. You may forget the bad things you did but I guess bc they are vampires it will always follow them back. It also says the more of the river the souls consume the more memories they'll lose, to be able to reincarnate they need to purge/clean themselves. This is just a short description but, it relates a lot to their storyline
