Have you read/done The Artist"s Way? I've heard good things about it helping creatives out of depression and creative slumps
I've heard of it but have never read it! I'll have to give it a try one day ☺
Thank you for talking openly about this ♥️ so many of us feel this way and feel alone when we are truly not ♥️
I recently fell down the puzzle rabbit hole and I'm in deep. Like, deeeeep. So I'm trying to find creators whose taste in puzzles align with mine. Your and my taste overlap quite a bit and so I'm happy to have found you! Please keep the puzzle content coming! My wishlist also keeps growing and growing 😅 and now I've gotten into finding funky vintage puzzles... R.i.p wallet
hahahha I might have to revisit in 2025! I actually didn't buy a single puzzle in 2024 because of how overboard I went in 2023 🙃 BUT I did get some puzzles as presents since I made this video!
@EmsCozyverse Oh, sweet! I'll be here to see it :) Good job on pausing your spending in 2024 for puzzles! Will have to check out your other cozy videos as well, especially on cozy games.
This is so similar to journaling, though perhaps a little more space and cost effective. I love making aesthetic little layouts, but I never use digital organization software, it's a personal failing. 😆Your Notion is so cute, though!
hahah my motto is "do whatever works for you" 😂 I used to keep a physical bullet journal but I'm too bad at drawing/doodling to make it look nice, so this is the next best thing!
This is so cute, I've never seen such aesthetic looking notion pages lol you've inspired me to re-do my own notion tabs icl 🎀🎀
omg thank you!! have fun :D
Old Navy Has great no show socks, I like the ones Athletic variety.
Ooh good to know! Thanks for the rec!
When you said less than 1500 subscribers I was so confused because I thought this was a big channel! Great job.
Hahah thank you!!
Be careful w the gels. You wanna get them off of your skin before you bake them. If not, you could develop an acrylic allergy.
Ooh good tip, I'll keep that in mind!
Loved this video!! I just recently found your channel! ☺️
thank you and welcome!! 👋
It's so sad that the cherry broke so quickly! The sad thing about working with polymer clay is that it can be super delicate. :( But the earrings were so, so cute!
I know!! So glad I was able to get a replacement because they were definitely my most worn earrings at the end of summer
I organize mine very loosely by vibe/genre and then within that shelf, tallest to shortest lol and ALWAYS keeping series together. For example of a vibe-sorted shelf, I have "anything atmospheric but like also dark color scheme" and "these books have fae in them" and "anything remotely gothic, spooky, or supernatural." It's kinda incoherent but it's MY library and I make the rules here. 😂
love it!! it's always interesting to see what sub-genres come out - like you think you're making a fantasy shelf and before you know it there's an overwhelming section of exclusively vampire books or something 😅
Just realized you have a plush of Atul from Spiritfarer on the couch! So cute! :)
He is the best! :D
I just got back into reading and currently I Have probably like 100-150 books on my physical tbr 😅 and I’ve read like 23 in the last 4 months. I’ve just been buying cheap books at op shops though. And I did get a bunch for free. So I don’t feel too bad. It’ll probably take me like 5 years to get through these all tho 🤣 I really need a bookshelf. Currently they’re sitting in piles on my dresser ❤
23 books in 4 months is amazing! at that rate, you could get through all of those books in 2-3 years 🤣 also getting so many of them free/discounted makes sense! I vote that you deserve a bookshelf!!
I have family premium but I don’t see how to get access to my free 15 hrs. They make it very hard.
yeah it's complicated with family plans - I think only the plan owner (the one who pays the bill) has access to the 15 free hours but I'm not 100% sure
Yea clearly who ever designed the Spotify audiobook experience doesn’t listen to audiobooks lol, it’s pretty bad. I’m doing a pretty similar thing too with my Spotify, but pretty much only saving books under 15 hours. Paying $13 for a top off is pretty insane when lots of books to purchase on Audible are like $17.
Right!! I honestly don't use it very often and when I do, the book is under 15 hours. such a bizarre pricing model imo
Just discovered your channel and I'm so curious - what does a software consultant job entail? It sounds crazy awesome to go from working all of your other jobs to that, so major congratulations!
for my company, it was managing projects for new customers (& sometimes building their system), acting as an account rep & helping current customers optimize their software usage, and acting as a direct line of support for troubleshooting/training for the accounts I owned - it's definitely not the norm for that job title and that's why they ended up splitting it into 3 roles haha the big transferrable skill that I had from the past was being able to explain things well (which sounds obvious but all of my online teaching & streaming gave me really good meeting presence and patience lol)
This was really helpful and I am really grateful you made this video! I studied Human Biology and didn't want to use my degree and ended up in Education with some UX Research experience. I am currently working part time at an Ed-Tech company as a Tutor/Operations Monitor and I also teach English at night, but I am really trying to find something full time in Ed-Tech (non teaching haha). I am currently looking to a join Customer Success/Insights Team and work my way up from there. Thank you again!! <3
love that & so glad you found this helpful! teaching English online is not for the faint of heart lol fingers crossed for you and your full time job search! you've got this!!
Old license plates go back to the State motor vehicle department
This was really interesting! Thanks for sharing! I am currently a teacher who is looking to switch things up after so so much burn out. Your current salary gives me hope for my future lol.
I have a lot of coworkers who were previously teachers and have heard the same thing from them! so sorry you're in the thick of it right now ❤️ it will get better - lots of customer success-related jobs in tech have transferrable skills from teaching and much better pay and better work-life balance (in my experience)!
Your apartment is so fun and unique! Also LOVE your sweater, do you mind sharing where it's from?
thank you!! and it's from urban outfitters but I got it back in 2020 (UO Eddie Balloon Sleeve Sweater if you want to try to find it!)
I read magic lessons this year and absolutely loved it! Way more than practical magic which I read last year. I think I’ll save the series too with just one book a year.
Yay! I'm even more excited for it now!! also it's definitely been fun to have another book in that series to look forward to each fall - I would usually binge a series especially if it has a cliffhanger ended, but these are so much more relaxed that it made me want to savor them haha
@@EmsCozyverseyes! It makes it so precious to savor a series like that. By the way, if you like the practical magic series I think you would also love the secret history of witches by Louisa Morgan. It’s about magic being passed down through generations of women and it shows mother / daughter relationships in the most heartbreaking and beautiful way. It’s one of my all time favs. ❤
me looking at my 150 book TBR when you said 30 is a lot 👁️👄👁️
HAHA I am so sorry 💀
I just found your channel, your content is so relaxing 💕
Welcome!! 👋🤠
Wow this is a dream😍your bookshelf is soo beautiful!!
thank you so much!! sometimes I turn around when I'm working from home just to stare at it 😂
I actually really love going into books blind, too! Horror is especially good for that - if I know what to expect, I'm not as scared! I've heard other people say that they feel overwhelmed by worldbuilding, and omg that couldn't be LESS my experience.
ditto!! I think that's why I do the same with fantasy - as little info as possible so even the world is a surprise!!
Ooh I’m excited for you! T Kingfisher is amazing and has such a variety of books.
I just started it today and I'm SO EXCITED! I can already see it as a movie in my head
I really enjoyed The Familiar, hopefully you like it, too! And I really love your ghosty shirt, so cute and Halloweeny!
👻 thank you!! and good to hear - when I was looking into it again for this video, I was meh on it compared to all of the others, but you just made me excited to pick it up 😃
"Ordinary Habit" puzzles are beautiful. They have a velvety feel and are really nice. My other favorites are Thomas Kinkade Disney puzzles from Ceaco or Schmidt brands.
amazing recommendation!! I just looked them up and am obsessed. Thomas Kinkade puzzles are so nostalgic to me - my great aunt had a ton of them when I was growing up 😊
@@EmsCozyverse Oh good! They are pretty awesome :) No way, that's really neat, I remember going to the mall and seeing the stores haha
Good stuff, definitely need to get myself on a budget.
yes! it was intimidating for me to get started with budgeting but I feel SO much better almost a year later
When you mentioned Freddy fish 😍, I don’t know anyone who knows that game. I used to play it as a kid!
SAME!!
Can u show a tutorial about how to do the top of
I've never done it before but here's an article from Spotify on how to do it! support.spotify.com/us/article/audiobooks-hours-topup/
I'm also the same way, regarding book analysis! I'm pretty good at catching simple or surface themes, but I feel like a lot of times, books are deeper than I grasp on first reading and I don't want people to find out I'm a little dumb. XD Like, that's my insecurity. So you're definitely not alone!!
glad I am not alone! (hate that we both have this insecurity) 😂
Love it! Can you please link the bookshelf?
it's the billy bookcase from Ikea!
I like this aerial silks thing because its so fascinating to me.
it's so fun! totally wish I could've started at a younger age but being able to do it now is super rewarding :)
I didn't knew that you do that as a hobby?
yes!! :D
I definitely relate on missing out on deeper meanings or “the point” in books. I feel like I’m just on the ride alongside the characters and have no deeper thoughts during 😅 then I listen to someone talk or read reviews and lightbulbs are going off.
Exactly!! and that's totally fine! I've learned that my enjoyment is still valid even if I miss things - the overachiever in me just wants to understand it all haha
You moved thats great 😊 and your apartment locks beautiful ✨✨ First 🥇
thank you!! ❤️
A 30 book tbr is actually manageable! You got this girl!
thank you!!
Love this, Em! You deserve more subs!!!! More finance and monthly resets on notion content pls <3
thank you! more to come ❤️
i don't know if you've gotten this before (i reckon you have) but you really remind me of dakota johnson. like if you told me that she was your cousin, i would believe you in a heartbeat.
We have very different tastes in puzzles, and that’s super cool! I don’t really care for designs that have big blocks of color or have a cartoony style, I’m a realistic art fan for my puzzles. Animals, science, fantasy, and landscapes are my go tos. However I definitely want to try that gradient one. I own the gold foil astrology one and I’m excited to start it, but I’m in the middle of another puzzle at the moment, haha.
ooh yes we have mostly opposite puzzle preferences! haha I think I only have one puzzle that's an actual photo and I got it on a trip as more of a souvenir 😬
you know how you said you couldn't put the memoirs next to the rest of the non fiction, in theory you could just rearrange where the shelves actually are and have the flowers below it
I like the asymmetry too much to do that, but you're right!!
I honestly would never do a rainbow shelf.
this is so valid
My books just go onto the shelf 😂 no plan, just vibes
somehow that is even more chaotic - I love it!
saw azul plushy and immediately loved youuu
he is my FAV!!
I have been so down the rabbit hole of personal finance and watching this was weirdly comforting to me. I’ve made huge strides on my journey but I also don’t regret my little treats among the way! Great video.
yes!! what are we saving for if not little (or kind of big) treats?!?
I spent money on dumb purchases I should have 😅, I feel like I’ve seen you before somewhere maybe Deja vu
I have definitely done that too hahah if you take all of my dumb purchases and total them up, I don't want to know where they would fall in this list
There is something so special about buying books in the moment, especially on a trip! Now you’ll get to remember it every time you see these beauties 😊 Girlfriend on Mars sounds crazy (but in the good way!) putting it on my TBR 🫶 wow that copy of pride and prejudice is so gorgeous, and how amazing it reminds you of the house 😍😍 what a great haul, thanks for taking us along!!
thank you!! and I could not agree more - I always save room for books in my luggage now because it feels like a practical souvenir :D
@@EmsCozyverse saved space is a must! But, the last trip I took, I had a bag of books from Barnes I couldn’t fit anywhere so I just carried with me hoping I could sneak them on to the plane.. I was thankfully successful 😍🫶
i spent so much on traveling in my 20s but i dont regret it. traveling is my passion.
yessss 🙌
Very interesting video!
thank you!
