Especially more now that I know the testimony behind Gloria Gaither writing it: The story behind the hymn begins in the late 1960s when Gloria Gaither was pregnant with their third child. At the time, the couple was facing many challenges in their personal and professional lives, and Gloria was especially worried about bringing a child into such an uncertain world. Despite their fears, the couple held onto their faith and trusted that God would guide them through whatever trials they might face.

When I was 18 years old, I accepted Christ as my personal Savior. God then put a calling on my life for ministry. I have served in many roles over the years with music being a large part of my ministry. Currently, I am the Director of National and Interntional Bible distribution for World Harvest Baptist Missions. My wife Carolyn and I are members of Willow Park Baptist Church and serve in the Joy Fellowship Class. God has given me a love for the generations that came before me and that is how my ministry at Willow Park Rehab and Care Facility came about. Every Saturday morning at 10am a group of us go to the facility and I preach and sing for them. My friend Craig began recording both the music and preaching and that is how we ended up here. I pray that this channel is a blessing to all that watch it. Most of all, I want God to get the glory!!

@Ina-me5wt Thank you. That was my favorite hymn growing up and I had the opportunity at 11 years old to lead singing this song before the whole church...but I chickened out. I was afraid someone would laugh at me because I cannot sing well. I've been hearing impaired all my life, so it's really difficult for me to sing on key. What I have learned from the residents at the Willow Park Rehabilitation and Care Center is that it's not about singing like a professional singer. It's all about making a joyful noise unto The LORD. And that's what we did!

Awesome! Do you still sing or perform? Have you considered sharing this gift that God has given you in a nursing home ministry. You can't imagine the blessings God will pour out on you as you minister to folks who are unable to get out and about. Yes, Michelle. In spite of our shortcomings, He is ALWAYS faithful and just to forgive us our sin and to cleanse us from ALL unrighteousness when we confess our sin. Michelle, I am grateful that He demonstrated His love for us in this: While we were brimming with sin, Christ died for the ungodly. He didn't wait until we "got our hearts right." He gave His Son in our place knowing ahead of time the dastardly deeds we would do. Praise God for His grace and mercy. And I thank you for choosing to worship him with us on this channel.
