Brother, I totally agree with you. We should always humble ourselves in front of the Lord but I’m not going to belittle myself in front of other people and allow people to take advantage of me by being humble in front of people we are called to be humble in front of the Lord and I will always boast what the Lord has done for me, I will never be humble about what God does in my life and I will always give him all the glory and praise because he is the one who deserves it also I believe that God enjoys when we use the free will that he gave us to make some decisions based on the desires that he placed in us in the beginning such as the style of clothing that we like to wear we didn’t get that from ourselves. We didn’t get any desire that was good from ourselves. That was always from God so when you enjoy how you look, I am fully aware that God plays these desires in me and the love to be able to accept myself for who I am and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that and I will never let anybody tell me different, unless it’s God himself

Terrible advice. It’s always good to have role models and motivation. What’s not good is expecting your friends to provide that for you. Is it good to have successful friends? Yes. Is it good to find new friends, because your current friends aren’t successful enough? No. If you’re struggling to find motivation to make your life better, I can promise it’s not because you don’t have enough people to compare yourself too.

As a,man its not ok to cry

It’s very therapeutic to cry sometimes. And I mean that deep breathes, can’t speak, head hurts, snot running down from your nose yet your sinuses are clogged kind of cry.

So I know that you're talking about closure in the context of a romantic relationship and I think that this is some good advice as far as that's concerned however. I would say that closure isn't exactly a myth in my unique situation although it is very hard to earn, and it's not going to be a fairy tale ending. You see, I had a best friend back in high school, we both were high functioning autistic, after high school we both moved out of our parents houses, got jobs, and drifted apart because of differing goals. A few years later, he committed suicide and I was absolutely devastated. I had lost somebody who was like a brother to me and it was because he was being bullied in his workplace and was fighting his own demons. Granted, he had a support network, loving parents, but I wasn't there for him, and haven't fully forgiven myself even if people tell me there's nothing I could have done, that it wasn't my fault, and that it was his own choice. I still haven't found any semblance of closure yet but i know how i can. I'm currently in college for computer science and not only have liked it since i was young, but it's also the perfect major to try to get a bit of bittersweet closure, because someday when I retire from the tech industry, I'm going to become a programming teacher for kids with disabilities. Call it God, Destiny, Fate, or even random chance but i am here for that purpose. Sooner or later if I am alive and breathing, I will teach and aid the future generations of those who are like me because who better to teach them than someone who fundamentally understands them I couldn't live with the guilt that weighs on my conscience if i didn't try at to help them become something more. Programming and tech jobs are some the most common high-end jobs for people with disabilities and they pay really well and AI is awful at programming things that are really complex and involve multiple overlapping concepts. After I've at least taught even just one student and see them succeed outside of highschool, (maybe even have a wife and kids if I'm really lucky) that's when I can die knowing that I have done well in this life, everything else after that will just be extra credit and so while I don't have closure right now I am content with the idea of working hard and waiting patiently for it.

I understand that she just told me what I already knew. I became happier when I decided to just let her go because her actions has given me more closure than what her own words could have given me.

Thanks for sharing. I've been stuck in this cycle. Since 4 years ago some big and difficult events happened in my life. I then decided that I'm going to finally pursue my goals and work towards a fulfilling life. I put a lot of energy and effort towards my goals up to the point of exhaustion. But progress was slow and I felt that things still remained the same and I was failing. I understand now that I as a person didn't make the shift and change myself within. I also didn't learn and understand what mistakes I was continuously making that was holding me back.
