Despite living around them most of my life I've actually never eaten rattlesnake.

There are safer noodles to snuggle. Around here there are also Gardner snakes who would make better snuggle buddies

This is the first one I've seen close to the house. I grew up in the California foothills where they are uncommon but still around.

It's the nickname I picked up from a friend who keeps snakes, although hers only think they are dangerous. She has several ball pythons which like to act tough around strangers but quickly decide they prefer to snuggle up to your body heat 😅

As I've talked to others throughout my life, almost no one recognized the practice. Admittedly, it was fun to watch some of the missionaries panic because they encountered a verse they had never studied.
