@@mattback3374 you will need a special tool to put it back! but i used bottle of salt or any kind of same size of your rubber make sure it’s plastic! put lots of oil around it when you pull out the plastic bottle the rubber stays on the shaft! it was long time ago i have done it and i’m 💯 sure it face out! because if it doesn’t face out it will eat it and start leaking oil

I never done this before. In order to install a new crank seal guard, would you have to remove the belt as well? Is it recommended to replace the belt while doing this?

What do you do if the cams don't line up?
What do you mean? If they don't line up they are not facing the right way and engine is out of time. QR codes on cams should show up.
@@JackRR15 can you turn the shafts so they line up? If they don't line up, the tool block will not slide in.
@@_Wai_Wai_ Yep. Like I assume your crankshaft is locked in place at the correct TDC and then you align up the camshafts and that means you are now in time.

I paid the dealership $1200 for them to do this because my camshaft phasers and tensioners went out. This tool wouldve saved me lots of money
That is actually extremely cheap! That was a Mercedes dealer? Where are you located? Out here we charge 2700.00 to do this. I'm an Indy. The dealer charges 4500.00 The two cam phasers alone will set you back 1000.00
The total price was $4,500. But I had mechanical Insurance on my car, and they covered about $3,000 of the cost.
what size wrench did u use to turn the camshaft just a bit from behind the sprocket? i tried every size and nothing fits
