There were many black slave owners who owned slaves in the south and very wealthy and prosperous.

White slave masters were part of the social elite, owned many slaves, and treated them as property. Black slave masters were fewer in number, often former slaves or free blacks, and sometimes owned slaves to protect family members. They faced more legal restrictions.

Because previous slaves he own wrote in their memoir that because he bought them all the slaves on that plantation got to marry and kept their families intact. Whereas if they has been on a white own plantation, they would have separated lots of families. So if you're gonna do a piece on him, get your facts straight!

It was said back in those days, they will buy more slaves tp prevent them from being hanged. So just because he bought them, none of us truly know the motive.

Yall have to really do some digging in and research lol. First of all you have to understand that the vast majority of us (“black”) people were already here! Yes you also most likely have African ancestors also and probably even Asian as these people were already traveling the globe, trading, and exchanging cultures with each other. Long long before a 1492!! Many of these “black Slave” owners were already very wealthy. Their ownership would quite often be of their relatives and sometimes even workers. Not in a manner of servitude but as if I’m taking ownership and responsibility for them there well-being and actions. Now there were dark Europeans along with their “white” counterparts of equal class that were bringing mass amounts of Slavakian people here in very harsh and poor conditions to start the new colonies. Hence the term slave comes from Slavakian. So many of these “white slaves” would escape. They would be taken in by aboriginal and indigenous people. They would be their “slaves” on paper just as probably his own son is. But they would be simply provided shelter and food and education for them and their children and in turn they would work the bonnevilles with them. And when they were able to get on their own two feet they were given their “freedom papers” as to take accountability for themselves and often given small plots and sometimes large plots of land! Now this occasionally went in reverse where a “black” person has escaped basically being a POW and he may become a “slave” to a “white” person and work for them. However yes these systems did get out of control and people started to abuse them both ways! I will say Europeans definitely took it to an extreme! However that’s how we have this weird dynamic in America where you wake up one day and like this white mfka 😂. But then you like well my boy’s white he cool why did I have to bring up he was white other than simply being an asshole person 😂. And I know it happens the other way around 😂.

I’ve never seen Jewish or any other groups speaking on what goes on in their house! Hint hint! It was common for Indigenous blacks of means to buy all their family and others to control the situation going on in the south. The business at the time was agriculture and bodies was needed for the land. Better to work for your own than a stranger? Thanks for the history!

Never heard of him until now 😮 Slave owners were black and white " buying, trading and owning humans" but most owners were MEN! Woman that married men also would be the owners of the slaves. Meaning that they would do the same as their husband's. Beat your a** , send you to the field also!

What y’all ain’t saying, that is really weird to me as a Black man, is that it is known that freed men and women owned plantations and bought slaves who would never be freed and provided them safe home wellbeing. There was no whipping, no further sells except for marriages or familial adoptions. Freed people’s books still had to be on the up and up. But yall knew that right?

This lie has been recycled for years. All Blacks were deemed 3 fifths of a human being by the Constitution and by law. It was forbidden for blacks to participate in the slave trade. You were property. And any black displaying the slightest bit of wealth above the poorest white was met with anger, and most of the time resulted in death and hanging. If you think some black had a plantation, and was sitting on the porch sipping lemonade while his fellow white slavers passed by on hirse back waving and smiling. Your about as dumb as they come. . . Even after Slavery the same happened. Kust like Black WallStreet, Rosewood, Elain, Bloomington and all towns of the "Red Summer". This kind of garbage on RUclips needs to be banned, its an insult.
