Addition: I despise Beyonce (though her music is more popular than songs made originally for other artsits) I despise mainstream Hiphop. I'm all about indie/alternative hiphop (MIA, Santigold...), classic rock (Fleetwood Mac, Bob Marley...), & sub-electronica (all sorts of trip-hop, jungle, drum n bass, dubstep, garage, the XX, Sbtrkt...) I don't even touch the radio or MTV anymore.

The well known one's do (and that's why they're unoriginal and well known) but there is plenty of fresh and sick UK HipHop you just don't hear it in the charts. On the subject of pop.... all your examples are utter shit (well-known but shit imo). Good pop (The Beatles/ELO/The Who) was born in the UK but is now rare.

I'm from America so I know our industry is better than yours so we hear more songs & you've probably never even heard Run the World before but if you knew a thing you knew a thing you would know artists sample beats all the time (genius).
