Old folks drive like crazy, but also, damn, US road design is shit.

There needs to be a cut off for driving. If you can be too young to drive, you can be too old to drive.

As you've mentioned cycling too, I've been noticing that there tends to be a general lack of awareness among the cyclists when it comes to paying attention to others in traffic. For instance they will often engage in an overtake without signaling nor checking if someone is coming up from behind, and yet somehow they are still the ones who get angry when they ultimately get honked. It's important to remember that you're not the only one on the road, so do respect your fellow traffic members and act in a predictable manner, i.e. no sudden turns without signaling and other surprises (if you don't want to get honked, that is :D).

You are telling me that parking behind parked cars with all flashers and waiting in the car is illegal in your country. Of course you would move if someone needs to get out/in. If we had such rules it would be impossible to do anything in heavily congested areas.

I came in very close call one time. A gal in a red pickup truck pulled in front of me that made me stop and honked at her. That was a few years ago. One time as I was going down the right way in a parking lot a guy in a pickup truck was in the wide almost took the entire lane. That was in a Walmart parking lot. He was a dumb ass. Walmart is now 2 way on the parking lot lines.

No one is paying attention because they are all going in circles looking for parking spots to open up and becoming increasingly frustrated.. car-brain at it's finest.

In the spirit of the video, having to swirl when stopping behind a car is a failed defensive driving. Even more so after observing them for miles driving erratically and not being good with a/decceleration.

Edit: Okay, there was continuation to it slightly after, but are cyclists not allowed to use the side walks if they feel like the road is not safe? Also, stop signs don't work. People will prefer to not stop because it's inefficient and people are lazy. The real solution is not more policing, but making the environment actually safer somehow so that there wouldn't be a need for the stop sign. Sure, it may not be possible in that intersection, but regardless.

I grew up in Denver and rode on this highway several times with my family. The funnest was when my grandma was with us. She had her eyes closed like a steel trap the entire time. Give me a million bucks and I still wouldn't do it on a bicycle.

The headline says that Mt. Evans is Colorado's highest peak. That's not correct, Mt. Elbert is Colorado's highest peak.

It's the highest paved road in North America. I drove most of the way up 20 yrs ago in June. The final stretch to the top was closed because of snow. My palms sweat again just watching this. I had my wife, our two kids, her cousin and her two kids in a rental SUV. I couldn't help but imagine the headline "7 die in tragic Mt Evans accident." But we made it.

Mount Evans is NOT the highest peak in Colo. Many others are higher. Mt Evans is the highest paved road.

awesome! now do that, but on a scraggy dirt road that’s barely traversable, has a 45° slope at some points, and can barely fit one quarter ton pickup, and you basically have most roads in northern bc.
