Hi Not on the NEW models! But on the older models you have to because that’s the only way you can get the belt on. :)
@@MotorModz oh really? Thanks for info. I havent done the new model yet but gonna be doing one soon. But if I loose them won't that be a problem?
@@dawidj6202 Tbh there is no need, just lock them with the timing tool mark them and replace what’s required and put the belt on.

I’m thinking buying a 2020 BMW 118i petrol. I know they have a 1.5 litre 3-cylinder engine. Are they any good?
Hi These new cars are really good even the small engine ones, we haven’t had any major issues with these so far since they quite new. But they suffer from heating problems because have such a complicated cooling system, if you are planning to buy one make sure you buy warranty it’s worth the extra cost. Thank you
Shit this happend to me aswell, I did not get a new tubro but I did recon mine because its 25% of the new turbo from Audi them self. Why are audi a1s so expensive.

On this particular job should be replace the belt for the oil pump , or this audi model hasn't a belt for oil pomp . Thx
The timing belt is not linked to the oil pump on these models.

@@FlorinFrent VAG cars are all the same, if I remember correctly it’s belt driven. :)

If its the same as on the VM Passat it will probably be due to sand being left in the water galleries after casting the engine block at the factory, or the old silica gel bag in the coolant header tank.
This is a common issue on VAG! It’s either what you mentioned or usually on these cars there is bag full of mini jelly’s in the expansion bottle which bursts and blocks all the system.
And you are wandering why your car roof is scratched! The white BMW!
Try changing the oil more often. Failing that throw it in the bin where it belongs
We tell the customers all the time. That’s exactly why we do soo many turbos and engines haha
