Welcome to my tutorial watercolour channel on youtube! 😀
My name is Märith and I am from Enköping in Sweden. Not too far from Stockholm and close to Uppsala. My watercolour experience goes back to the beginning of 2018. I went to Art School in 1995. My art interest at the time was photography and sculpture. Mostly of my watercolour knowledge is self taught. I teach watercolour for groups now and then and is something of great value to me ❤️🙏. It inspires me to paint watercolour even more!
On my youtube channel I will give you a variation of watercolour tutorials. Everyone beginner or not is welcome to watch ! It is much apprecierad all positive and constructive comments from you on which I will give feedback ☺️

Paint candles in watercolour!

In this video I will show you how I painted two candles. A lot of charging colours in the background!
Watercolour techniques you can observe in my tutorials are ie plastic cling film, mix watercolour directly on paper using vet in vet, lift colour from paper by using a plastic card with paper tissue and negative painting. White gouache for smaller details and splatter.
Watercolour paper: Saunders Waterford 300g High white
There are many watercolour techniques which will allow you to experiment a lot while you paint!

Hi! Are you loading the paint inside the straw or are you dipping it in paint first?
Hi back 🙂! I use the brush to leave a drop or or two of colour on dry watercolour paper and then blow through the straw on the pigment and steer the colour in different directions 🙂

How do you get your paintbrush bristles to splay out like that for painting foiliage?
Painting foliage in watercolour is of course different painting techniques. Here I think I used a small brush and the techcnique is not to have so much paint and water and press the brush on to the paper. Another painting technique I use is with a natural sponge. The latter is so much fun and you gave me inspiration to make a tutorial how you best can use a natural sponge to make foliage in trees, bushes grass etc. Thank you for watching my tutorials ! /Märith
Beautiful! I am amazed how long you were able to apply the oranges/reds/black with the paper cauliflowering! I cannot get away with that!
Thank you 😉🙏💗 it is all absolut timing 😅 keep practising and you’ll succeed and I cannot emphasise enough the importance of the paper quality. I use Saunders Waterford 300 gsm and I have never been disappointed ☺️. Cold pressed and 100% cotton.

Hello yes beautiful ! Are using drawing gum at the beginning of the paint or is it only water with the plastic film...thanks from France.

Very nice! May l offer a suggestion, which is to explain the sequence of the pigments you kindly listed, but didn't explain in the course of the video. A tutorial isn't helpful if you don't have a clue which which colours you start with, then layer over. For example, it looked like you used Burnt Umber around the yellow of the flame, but then thought it was Burnt Sienna after another few layers that looked more like the Burnt Umber. Then, is the candle Cadmium Red, followed by Alizaron Crimson, @3:28 up to 4:10, then do you add Umber or Sienna to darken the bottoms? All in all, l wanted to try it, but need far more experience in colour mixing l guess. I think your channel would benefit greatly if you offered more explanations as you proceed. God Jul! 🕯🕯🕯
