Decided to rewatch the footage of my landing and just wanted to thank y’all again for catching my arrival. :)
Are you allowed to watch planes at that location where your standing.
The spot in the last half of the video is where most people stop to watch. It is along East Side Ln. just off of Williamsburg Rd. It is possible that the Airport Police may come by to check. But they are usually friendly to plane spotters and allow people to stay.

Whoa! You’ve got to do this more often at RIC…even better would be a long-standing camera and broadcast that lasts all day. Been dreaming of something like this at RIC! The one problem you have right now is that your internet connection isn’t good and is causing your video to be dis-jointed. But, dang, love this!
We will for sure be doing more RIC streams. This was just a technical test and as you pointed out, there were some issues. We did have a 5G signal, which should have been plenty of bandwidth so we will need to sort that out.

I found the sound issue. Loose cable. Live streaming is not something to be done in a hurry. 🙂

Beautiful I do plane spotting photos. What’s this location called? Is it allowed?
David - This was shot from East Potomac Park near Hains Point. It is a public location so yes, spotting it is allowed. The best time to shoot is in the morning. Later in the day the aircraft will be backlit and thus images won't be as good.

Awesome video! How do you pan record so smoothly? It your camera on a tri-pod? My recording whenever I'm zoomed really far in is never stable.
A tripod with a nice fluid head is a must for smooth pans. And even so, the technique could still use some improvements.

@@henryburke1979 I use the Manfrotto 502AH. I first tried to go cheap with a no name tripod from Amazon but that did not work out very well. So I kept the sticks and swapped out the head for the Manfrotto and it's night and day. A lot of performance for a decent price.

Most of it was shot near the entrance to the Udvar-Hazy Museum. On the south side of Dulles International Airport

I think you are right. I am also starting to see more 800s. Last I checked about 60% of the fleet is still 700s
