Hello, and thanks for the great video! Do you think I can pay you to fix my RoboPong 2055? I just took the entire machine apart, cleaned it properly, and put it together. The same problem persisted after this--machine goes left and right, but won't suck up or spit out balls. It responds for a second, the wheel goes a half a turn, then stops! Could I send you my machine and pay you to repair it?

@@febatman sadly, no! but i got it working. thanks for the vid! the problem was the 5-pin power chord between keypad and robot was not the correct one for the machine!

I made the tool myself. Unfortunately our warehouse burnt down and the tool is gone. I will make another one when our warehouse is rebuilt.
Plastic on these robots are durable? or they tend to break?
Very durable, the only time I’ve seen breakage happens, is when someone drops something on the head. Mines 25 years old and still perfect.

Hello. I have the same issue with OSC. I replaced the original servo with HS-311 but when I'm trying to calibrate it, the arrow is shaking. I don't know how to explain it better. There is a way to send you a video? Thanks
Hello Gabriel, did you replace it with the correct servo motor. A HS311 won’t work on older mother boards. You can tell by looking at the back of your controller.

Are you using the correct balls.
2:19 This is a mistake in the instructions and markings on the bumpers. The smallest bumper is for the thickest table top. Smallest bumper for 25mm/1" top

Thanks for that. LOL I was getting occasional double balls after 6 years (2d RoboPong machine). Opened up, cleaned and lubed everything in the gearbox (feeder below) - and now getting ball jam. If only I'd watched this first. Dint know they had "calib". I'm on the right track now, thanks to you.

Hi Speed will give strong spin.
This boat is clearly not beyond the horizon, just too small to see in the zoomed out image. It's close though - push it another 5km away, and you would see the horizon begin to obscure it.
Do you relize how far a Nikon P1000 can see.
@@febatman I do, but it's only able to see things that are visible. If something is hidden, or partially hidden, it cannot show that. Zooming cannot bring things back from behind another object, like the horizon. This video is not of a boat over the horizon, just one that is not visible to the naked eye

Great video. How do I know the servo is the problem? When I power up my 2050, the oscillator makes a whirring engine noise, goes directly to the backhand side, and gets stuck there, never shooting out balls.
Generally its the servo that causes the problem. Make sure you purchase the correct version for your robot.

You are very good at what your doing but the problem with mine is that the motor starts but the balls are not going in the head and not injecting out and seems hesitating and sound of the motor is slow so do you have a solution for my 2055. Thanks in advance.
Just sand down the inside of the ball track to make sure all your balls go through? Would'nt have to get rid of much.
It’s not just the ball track, the piece between the ball track and the head can cause problems.
Hi, I need help with my Newby pong 2050 I think it’s the wheel that’s broken the ping pong balls won’t move and it just stay in one position even if we turn it on. It’s on the bottom of the ping pong robot and it rotates but this morning I used the robot it was fine but after I came back it, it was broken, it was rotating in another direction and the ping pong balls won’t move because it’s rotating another direction. I don’t really know what to do ?
Sounds like your motherboard may be faulty. Or the grey cable may have a short.
Hi, i have problem with 2040, the machine working but the ball spin is not consistent, it feels like some time its top and side, i know because the way the ball bouncing is different, it become hard to predict. Do you have any suggestion whats the problem? Thanks before
what type of 12v DC motors do these use? RPM? I am looking to replace old 2040 motors.

There are a few reasons why you may get ball jams. Are you using quality balls. The ball speed motor could be a little worn. The friction block or discharge wheel could be dirty or worn.

Hello, Rob! Can you, please, explain to me one thing about servo? I have an old one robo pong 2050 (with black port) and my servo just burned coz of voltage stabilizer outage. I tamper a new one to the circut and buy a new servo, but it similar to HS-311. But it still not working. Servo never turns. You said in video, that servos so different. Did you try to use new typed servo with an old one control box? Does it works somehow?
Hello Erop, HS311 doesn’t work with old circuitry. Have does rest of robot still work.

Do you know why the Ball Jam Alarm keeps coming on even though there are no ball jams? It happens after the robot shoots out 1-2 balls, then the alarm comes on. This is for the 2050.
Can be a few reasons, the last one we repaired we had to replace the ball speed motor. If your getting 2 balls coming out you need to try and rectify this first. Under settings adjust the ball feed sensor. I have a video on the 2 ball shooting problem. If that doesn’t fix it, then it may be the motor.
@@febatman Do you think it might be the servo? Every time I unplugged and plug in the power the robo head automatically swing to the right causing it to go out of alignment and I would have to adjust the drive pin.
@@febatman P.S. The ball speed motor seems fine. It shoots the ball out at different speed as adjusted. If you still think it's the ball speed motor, can you please do a video on how to replace it, and also the spec for the motor. Thanks.

@@febatman Great, thank you. I used the robo pong for an hour each day for a month & machine is throwing 2 or 3 balls at the same time. When I checked, it looks likes that spring is broken and hence the request. Is it quite common for the discharge spring needing replacement?
Satish Krishnamoorthy I’ve had mine for 20 years and never had to replace it. They are very reliable. Obviously they do wear.
