Christian is just a follower of Jesus. To become a Christian is just to follow Jesus, which Paul most definitely did. As for Jesus, Christ himself, he can hardly become one of his own followers. Load of twaddle, that bit. Stuff and nonsense.

Socialism is such a clever label as it allow the conflation of "being social" with being a socialist. Rev. Steve especially prone (and nevertheless spoke beautifully)

Enjoyable evening! Wished it were quarterly and not annually.

It was an interesting debate with a few speakers rambling on, but when Steve Chalke in the house of god said that part of the Old Testament was ripped off from somewhere else and implied that we stole the old Testament from the jews and that paul wasn't a Christian unbelievable beware of false teachers 2 peter chapter 2

An interesting debate. "Socialist" seemed to mean different things to different people, however. What a pity that Winston Marshall was allowed to wind up the debate with his reprehensible rant!

I'm watching in June 2024 and find my spirits being lifted by such a beautiful service , thankyou to all involved and I hope to visit St. Bartholomew's in the future. God Bless.

I've talked about this before. I have offered my country parish all the funds they would need to sustain a priest and a budget. But then they turn around and tell me "but we're getting a women priest" which is something I oppose. So my question would be "why would I give tens of thousands of pounds to a church which will then use the money for something I oppose forcing me to go to another church?"
