As a kid, my introduction to country music was by Lynn Anderson. I didn't listen to Country and Lynn was also played on the pop stations, plus I used to regularly see her on mainstream network shows that most of the others weren't on.

I like Suzy, but I surely wouldn't go that far. Unfortunately, Suzy has pretty much become a footnote in country music history. I don't agree with it, just stating the obvious.

Wow.....never knew anything about Herb Albert until i finished watching this video. Heard a few songs of his as a kid growing up but never knew his accomplishments with building a company and signing my other favorite group, the Carpenters. Amazing talent as a kid, teen, and adult. I also never knew Herb called up on of my favorite composures named Bert Bacharach to send him a love song so he can add it to his show, which btw hit number one. Truely a maverick, pioneering his talent and taking the bull by the horn to give us fans decades of listening pleasure. Herb was right, he was able to take advantage being around at the right moment and at the right place. Imho i believe his musical parents were a catalyst which helped Herb achieve musical greatness.

12:47 The Sweetest Thing Lyrics ~ In the stillness of the dawn Our love is dead and gone The sunrise warms my heart With memories of you It's the sweetest thing--remembering There's a picture in the hall That I'm leaving on the wall 'Cause there's a look in your eyes That always made me fall apart It's the sweetest thing--remembering When I close my eyes to cry I can't help but feel a smile 'Cause I think of you and I forget It hurt to say goodbye But after all we've been through It's amazing to me The sweetest thing's remembering Oh the sweetest thing--remembering We wanted love to last forever And the good lord knows we tried But when the rain came pouring down There was no place left to hide But after all we've been through It's amazing to me The sweetest thing's remembering Oh the sweetest thing--remembering It's the sweetest thing--remembering

Such happy memories. But the humidity…and the skunks!!!

I realize Mr. Sedaka has better things to do, but he would make an excellent music teacher: he explains things quite well and seems like such a lovely, patient man. Most geniuses can't (or won't) explain their processes. He's a very engaging interviewee, and I had no idea he'd written and/or performed all of those hits! Nor did I know he'd been exploited by his mother and her sleazy lover - it's especially disgusting since he seems so kind and worked so hard. Thank goodness he was able to keep on keepin' on!

And further documentary focus on these wonderful ladies would be awesome. After i saw this, the line from a Gordon Lightfoot song actually allowed me to perfectly imagine it. There was a petition online several years ago….its time it was revived and sent to the RnR HOF. What are they waiting for? His death??? Honor him NOW!
