    I'm Japanese. I feeling that this is the nature of Japanese people. Japanese people living in Japan are always concerned about "How people around me think of me" So I feeling that difficult to live

    I lived in Japan 6 years, and other than my naturally big butt, I was able to fit the Japanese standard of beauty and thinness pretty well. I learned to dress in ways that hid my butt yet also looked cute, and so I was able to look quite thin at 164cm and 52-55kg range thanks to my upper body being so small in comparison. I also wore boots with chunky heels and the like to make my legs seem longer and slimmer. Depending on the clothing item and how I wanted it to fit, I wore size M, L, LL, or some free size items. It's America where I get annoyed because any healthy weight is "too skinny" according to relative, or I get hit on when I don't want to be for my butt because it's considered "sexy" here, or I've been rejected a few times in my life for having too small of a chest, something that never happened in Japan. I have a face that is considered cute in Japan but kind of ugly here, including my "bunny teeth". Tbh, I look kinda like the half Japanese idol Becky, but like a full English cousin, so my big light eyes, natural brown hair and clear, light skin also help, I think. I didn't have to wear much makeup or do much to be confident there. Idk, I found it easier to fit in with Japanese beauty standards than American, but everyone is different!

    Those that say "what happen to your ear?"are usually people you have to be cautious around . They may just be curious or looking for a reaction from you for some reason. It's unsettling to think there are people who lack sense of when to hold their tongue.

I would suggest to go and talk to surgeons who are specialists in this and you should be able to have different opinions☺️ Good luck! Your baby is lucky to have you as a parent x

    I read that japanese mothers breastfeed their daughters for at least 18 months so they would develop "optimum facial features". For instance a snub nose, a broad jawline, chubby cheeks and porcelain skin. Granted my cousin who is 27 was nursed by her mama until she was 3 and she has the cutest face and the snubbiest little nose even as a adult. Nothing like me or my siblings were all bottlefed and have narrow faces and large convex noses 😔!!!

    I just want to say thank you so much for making this video. It’s so affirming to see you talk about how this is such a prevalent issue in Japan. I moved to Japan ~7 months ago and while there are many good aspects about living here, this issue is definitely one of my biggest qualms. Today, I encountered a similar situation to the TV segment you shared, so I searched here on YT for something about this and glad to have stumbled upon your video! I’ve really been struggling with receiving constant comments about my appearance (negative, positive, and in-between/backhanded compliments) to such a frequent degree that I’ve never experienced before. I’m half-Japanese and so I find another layer is not really being considered “Japanese enough,” but also still being held to harsh Japanese beauty standards. Similarly to your experience in England, growing up and living in the US, I don’t think I recall being solely judged based on my looks, weight, skin tone, etc as a judge of character or worth. Sure, beauty standards exist, but I feel like there is more open-mindedness in seeing the beauty in everyone and really judging someone based on their character or ~vibe~, ya know? As a teacher, I see a glimpse of how it starts early. Talking about looks and beauty is at the forefront of a lot of conversations I hear with students. Of course, caring about your appearance in it of itself isn’t a bad thing, but my hope is as a educator, I can spread the message to young people to love themselves.

    • @dailylarisa9586
      @dailylarisa9586 2 года назад

      Thank you so much for sharing your experience. I can 100% understand what you are going through. It’s never easy but I hope one day, there will be a change in people’s mindset! Your students are lucky to have you as their teacher ☺️

    it’s pleasure to have you back here, dear✨congratulations on this change! “not everybody has the same 24 hours” thank you for acknowledging it! right now I work in a place I really do not want to be in, I am mentally & physically exhausted (yea, I as well work in the retail, sales assistant, have no stable shifts and day offs, have no financial stability and also have no stable mentality at this point), but I am just stuck in this situation.. I really have no idea what I want to do carrier wise or what my skills are. Sometimes I just think that I am not good at anything and why would I even imagine that I deserve better? It is hard and painful, but I have to “cut the cord” and move on I just do not know where. anyway, thank you so much for sharing your experience! At least I know that it is indeed possible, to get more balanced and better.

    I really appreciate this topic being talked about. im currently living in japan and have experienced lots of negative comments. mostly about not looking like whatever basketball player that people like or rapper lol. people will come straight up and insult my appearance even if they themselves look less than perfect. i feel like while living here, everyone else is allowed to be normal but i need to be super handsome. and if i dont meet the standards everyone hates me basically.
