I think sell thru rate is the way to go!🫡
I do too. I think it is more work but I think in the long run the profits will be more.
Hello your channel came up in my suggestions!! New Sub here!! Thanks for sharing!
Thank you for watching. Getting to put a new video up shortly.
@Floridaebayhunter awesome!
I didn’t go garage sale’ing today I need to work on my death pile 😭 Do you know how to make a bundle for people? Someone wants to buy multiple items from me but get a deal on it and then ofc have combined shipping.
Used to they could buy all the items and not pay yet and you could calculate the shipping and then send an invoice. I think Ebay quit doing that with the immediate pay. Now I have them buy one item and pay that way you can calculate the shipping for the whole combined shipment. Then they can buy the rest and you can refund the extra shipping or they can buy all of the items and then you refund the extra shipping. Ebay needs to fix that issue.
@ oh darn, seems like a hassle. It would be 4 items Okay well thanks very much for the info! Can’t wait to see what u & your mom picked up today👍😄
Fun video idea. I actually looked up Chia pets last weekend when I saw 2 sealed ones at a sale. I left them there after seeing the STR.
I am learning some of the things I am buying are crap. Humbling experience.
Mom is correct. Petite is only referring to height (think inseam, arm length and shirt length) The opposite of Tall in clothing. ✅
It’s hard to look at a paper for namebrand and then look for the clothing brand
Yes it is. It is really hard filming and looking up clothes. I need to get a camera I can attach to my chest so I can use my phone
Your mom is right. Always listen to mom. 😂
I listen to her a lot. She is pretty smart and a great mom.
I do well with plus size Old Navy stuff. It's a low tier brand so I don't make a huge profit, but it flies out the door pretty quickly so I get when I can.
I am sure I will buy some low tier clothes as long as they have a 25% sell through rate or higher.
Honesty in your business helps you grow for sure. Thanks for sharing Steve.
How do you check a sell through rate?
I will do a video on it next week but for now, if you are using your phone, look up the item. Lets say a lava lamp 16.5 inches. It will pull all the listings up for that lava lamp . If you go to your filter button and click on it at the bottom it will show you the total amount of listings for that item on Ebay right now. Lets say there are 1000 listings. If you scroll down to sold listings on your filter. It will be closer to the bottom on an Iphone. not sure on android. If you click sold listings it will then show you how many sold in the last 90 days lets say 250 sold. Divide 250 by 1000 and it will give you your sell through rate in the last 90 days. In this example. it would be 25% I like to sell my items within a year so if 25% of the 1000 listings are selling in 90 days then 100% of the listings should sell within four 90 days cycles or 1 year. You will need to determine how fast you want them sold and what sell through rate is acceptable to you and what is too low. I use 25% and higher. Hope that helps.
@@Floridaebayhunter That's so interesting! Thank you! I've been a reseller on Poshmark for years but I'm new to ebay. I've never really researched things outside of just my own trial and error. This is great for the times when I want to try out a new item or brand
@@brittneyd7928 It takes the emotion out of it.
I was curious as to how this would work out- thanks for the update. I could have sworn it was you who was saying ‘it takes just as much time and effort to list a $50 piece of clothing as it does a $5 piece of clothing’ Or something to that effect And that’s definitely true! I try not to waste my time with the hamster wheel stuff
Yes That was me. I was hoping it would work out but you never know until you try it. I thought the video would save some people some time if they were thinking the same thing. Next year I am curious to see how much I make with less time listing.
Time for a big yard sale and sell everything you don’t want to hold onto.
I agree. I am going to ride out through Christmas and then purge around March when it warms up in Florida.
Is it really worth your time to list thousands of lower priced items? I will gross $120K this year and I've never had more than 300 items listed at one time.
I am agreeing with you. I think sell through rate is key. What do you sell? It was a failed experiment.
@@Floridaebayhunter Lots of clothing (but decreasing quantity listed) Antiques, collectibles, electronics...ANYTHING that sells, really. You are correct, sell-through rating is KEY to success. I list 5-10 items most days. That's it. Right now I have 301 items listed. I average 6-8 items selling per day and usually 20 on weekends. for best success, go out of your comfort zone and look for items that have high sell-through rates. it's easier than you think! I see many sellers list THOUSANDS of clothing items they may get at the goodwill bins. Sure, they only cost a dollar or so but most of those items SIT on your shelves for many months before selling. Do you really want to keep inventory that long? My entire operation is in a 10x10 shed in my back yard. Good luck :)
Sorry but this looks poorly organized
Not a problem. I am able to find an item in 15 seconds or less. Thanks for watching.
Clever use of the SKU field. Thanks for the tip!
It works really well. I can glance real quick when I get an offer and decide if I want to accept.
Hi! Thanks for showing us how you organize your system. Do you have air conditioning or a humidifier in your garage? Also, what clear plastic bags do you use to store your clothing in? Thanks! Rebecca
I do have air conditioner from the house. I use 10 X 13 clear bags.
Nice vid! I’m already subbed or I would 😅 I sell more men’s clothes but I also have more listed
I just haven't learned Mens Clothes yet.
Your videos are very inspiring to me! Most of the other channels I watch are bigger channels with a staff that helps photograph, list, package and ship… which leaves the fun part of sourcing just to them. And while it’s entertaining, it’s not that relatable because most of us are just a “one-man show” like you. So, seeing you out here doing your own thing and managing every aspect of the eBay business is very encouraging to me. Thanks! PS. I know your mom and wife+kids help occasionally but most of the workload seems to fall on you. It is the same for me.
I really appreciate. Ebay has helped me through tough times years ago, vacations, tight times with money. Now it is paying our home off. I do believe that most Ebay businesses are setup this way. That is why I wanted to be fully transparent. Thanks for watchig.
I’m enjoying all the uploads! I like the new schedule with educational, packing, and y’all’s garage sale adventures 😃
I appreciate it. Trying to offer what people want more.
Wow, glad y’all are okay and nothing major was lost! 🍀 I’ve had my first chargeback. $932 on hold in my eBay account. Quite discouraging 😞
Wow. That is a lot. What was the chargeback for?
@@Floridaebayhunter I know it it! It’s a vintage chair that I sold. First, they claimed item not delivered. Once that was cleared (because tracking showed delivered and signed for). They said it was broken on the inside and wanted to keep the chair but wanted me to file with UPS. But they also said they threw away all the packaging. (Obvi you need that for an ups claim) (which, ups did package it btw). So we settled on a partial of $185 5 days pass and I remind them they need to be the one to initiate. No word from them. Then another 5 days pass. (This is OVER the 30 day return window at this point. 31 days actually) and they initiate return. I think, cool.. I offer $185 They decline. They say they want full refund and to get it from the shipping company. (Mind you, shipping was $245 alone so I don’t want a false INAD) Well, since they went back on their agreement for a partial AND threw away packaging AND it was past 30 days, I declined the return. Now, they’re doing a chargeback 😑
glad ya'll are okay mike smcuriousgoods we had trees around me in Ga

You may want to get some clothing racks and try to fit them somewhere it would be much better than all those heaps of clothing.
Hello from Germany 🙂
🍀🍀🍀 2 new vids, woo-hoo!🥳
I am trying to do one every other day from now on and be more transparent and educational. Let me know what you think.
If you don't like the way Americans do things.....gtfo!
Wow, they were rude! Don’t let them discourage you from filming at garage sales. Why do they even care??
I was thinking the same thing. You have known me for years. I would have gladly shut it off if it made somebody uncomfortable.
Good luck with your channel.
Thank you. I appreciate it.
Great run down!
Thank you. Trying to be more transparent. Love your channel.
@@Floridaebayhunter ❤️👍
Tommy Bahama I love selling on Poshmark can usually get $30 a piece for those when I sell them
I keep an eye out for those. They usually sell well for me too. Thanks for watching.
Size 9/30 inch waist.
good to see you selling it Steve
i am up to 2400 items in my store but sales are DEAD! s&mcuriuosgoods2019 i sell media been getting offers but NO bites
Well, I stand corrected on the Lularoe being in demand. Grats on the sell 👍😁
LOL. Somebody offered $2.00 on two last night.
Lularoe is cheap and from an MLM scam. Thats why your mom remembers the parties. They tear easily, it’s cheap fast fashion. Lululemon is expensive and quality items (they sell more than leggings, have jackets etc and both men and women’s lines) Lululemon sells well
Thanks. I thought they were different. I didn't know they had parties.
Can you hear us yelling at the tv!. The shirts need to have a cloth tag, not screenprint.

Hey that’s me! 😄 That’s awesome you have someone to help you source… I wonder where she’s getting these from if she’s making a profit by selling them for $1 apiece ?🤔
I am not sure where she gets them from. She always washes them folds them. Great sourcing
I love your sourcing person she got you some great brands . I sell on eBay but Poshmark is my main . One of my favorite brands to sell is quacker factory
@@dbrntt I am glad Quacker Factory is a good one. I love saying the name! LOL
🍀🍀🍀 yes, we care! 😁 I pay attention to the brands more than the size. ( if it’s a vintage tshirt with a cool print, then I don’t care the brand ) I will skip on size XS and I usually don’t pick up anything smaller than medium for men’s clothes. I believe size Large sells the best for women and XL for men. But ofc I can’t limit myself to just those. Similar on pants, I don’t pickup anything smaller than size 29 waist nor bigger than 36 waist.
Thanks for caring. We do appreciate. That was good advice on sizes. I think I will start using that on my buys.
Looks like a great deal. Love your channel, watching it makes my day!
Yes. My client gave me a great deal LOL
Fishing lures is definitely something I’d like to learn more about… I think it’s an undertapped market here in East Texas I would think fishing lures would be plentiful there too
Vintage fishing lures do well. Make sure you looked them over good. Older ones get dry rot on some of the items. They look good in the plastic. I would take them out and look at them to make sure they are in good shape.
@@Floridaebayhunter ah, good advice- thanks!
I have the '54 Chevy Low Rider on top of my PC, it's the same one you picked up at the start of the video. I'm surprised it went for $25. I think I paid about the same as you did.
Some go for a lot. Some are common.
I've bought die-cast 1:24 scale cars at my local comic store. I should look them up and see what they sell for.
I do real well with Die Cast
Hopefully all xxxl ,as you Americans are all over weight .😢
Nice score!! Tell mom the viewers miss her! Tell wifey we hope she gets well soon 🫶 Btw, do you find a difference in sells based on HOW MANY listings you upload? As an example, I try to list 5 a day. I saw my sells jump. Do you think they’d jump again if I listed 10 a day or do you think it doesn’t matter the number of listings as long as it’s consistent uploading? (I hope that made sense)
I will let them know. Yes. I think the algorithym looks at three things. 1. Are you are listing every day? It realizes you are working on your Ebay page and rewards you with good placement on the views page. 2. I think it looks at consistentency. I would list the same amount daily every day. Even on weekends. 3. I think it looks at listing names as close as you can to the exact listing name the buyer is typing in.
@@Floridaebayhunteroh interesting! I haven’t ever thought about #3 you listed Yes sir, I try to keep up with my 5 per day 😅
@@uponamidnightdreary I noticed if we don't list on weekends we drop in sales.
👍😁👏🤗
🥳☘️ Garage sales stunk this weekend here, but last weekend was amazing. So it evens out. I’ve been sick today so all my orders have to get packed tmrw morning 🙊 I like these packing videos too. I watch yours, Matt & Kayla’s and adhdaves 😁
Yes. The Garage Sales did suck. MY wife and I were not finding anything. I should have that video up tomorrow. Hope you feel better. Being sick sucks.
@@Floridaebayhunter thanks!
Hahah yeaa 🥳 I like hanging out in the Shamrock, it’s kinda like hanging out in Pee-Wee’s playhouse with all the toys and stuff 😅 I’m in east Texas and surely know humidity but Florida humidity is a whole other beast 🥵🏊🏼♀️
I heard it is hot over in Texas. Mom and I are visiting Dallas Next year and then going to the Alamo!!
Some times I don’t “feel” like going to thrift stores but I almost always feel like going to garage sales… I think they’re fun, I like poking around and chatting with the homeowners 🙂
I really like the garage sales. I feel like most garage sales they just want to get the junk out of there house. Toys especially. They have no idea on value. All they care about is their kid is done with it and they want it gone. I feel the same with clothes.
@@Floridaebayhunter for sure the best prices!
