    With pausing the video i solved 9, likely ten but I calculated slower than the answer was hidden so had to start pausing, without pausing probably about 3 😂, began pretty much last month even though i played draughts as a kid, but im 25 now 😢, trying to feel like Howard Staunton when he began, but probably, in reality, worst and more confused, heres hoping but tbh i just wanna enjoy playing more because i can feel it connect mentally with each day; focusing on developing my knowledge more than ratings or a persona, Tal is my favourite player though, what a wizard, that said, looked through your channel and it looks quality so glad I found this too

    Thumbs up! Great little video that I will recommend. 3:55 though: You need to add notations, because this might aswell be a the-pawn-capturing-the-queen-position. I have seen enough chess puzzles where the position looked like that but the notation was flipped (cause they, Kings, somehow* went over to the other side. ) Because I have seen enough "funny" youtubers who trick you by leaving such essential information away, for what ever reasons such as clickbating "hardest mate in 1", or other puzzles / reasons. *somehow some way. Yes really, they flip the board and then say hardest puzzle and you won't get the solution because you assume what you play is bottom it's a natural given, or leave previous moves away so you won't see possibilities and won't think it's important because everyone naturally gives those information if they matter for the puzzle. It's basically an unwritten law of chess puzzles if you want. Of course good ones are simply hard without tricking (if you don't want to use the word cheating), such as 5:25 had to pause for a little bit here 🙂

    I'm an absolute beginner, but In Puzzle 13, it doesn't seem to put the king in check by moving the bishop to capture the pawn. You would still need to capture the rook before the king, right?

    • @rainoblivion2725
      @rainoblivion2725 3 года назад

      Idk if this will help at this point since some time has passed, but capturing the pawn with the bishop checks the king with the rook that the bishop was blocking :) sorry if I explained poorly. I’m also an absolute beginner haha

    This is a good substitute for kids too young to understand fractions. The queen is worth more among beginners. in April 1999 3.25 N/B, +1/2 if both bishops can be freed, R=5, and the Q=9.75 (cit. GM Larry Kaufman) then 2019 the further updated true values are considered to be Pair of Bishops = 7.5 Minor Piece (N/B) 3.5 Rook 5.25, and Queen 10.0 ruclips.net/video/3hYy0C-QXio/видео.html (cit. GM Larry Kaufman) Because this is only one factor in assessing a position,, and because it is only a rule-of-thumb type of guide, we may as well teach the truth! Most notably it is quite rare for two minor pieces (especially when they represent most of a player's development) to be worth a rook + a pawn! This is what ALL chess teachers should teach. 3 1/2 for bishops and 10 for the Q is much better than the 1940s version 13359 must expire!
