I remember there was a span of 6 or 7 starts that year where the Angels were undefeated when Ohtani started but lost almost every single game he didn’t pitch
that would mean he's great because hitters are trying to hit a ball in the zone "the square" and his pitches are deceiving because they have so much break.
Personally 2022 has been my favorite year of Ohtani. It’s just a bit cooler to be an awesome pitcher who hit 30 plus homers than an awesome hitter who pitched just above average. Cant wait for his comeback in 2025.
Nah, the other 2 years he pitched great considered to other pitchers (he had 94/100 rate as P in 2021 and 91/100 in 2023 according to Statcast), just not as good as the 2022 season. But same like you, I like his 2022 season the most
@ his homers allowed in 3 years were pretty similar honestly. The matters actually came from his ERA, FIP and some other advanced stats. Except an average 4.00 FIP in 2023, his stats in 2021 and 2023 were mostly on top 10-15. I think that numbers are just enough to consider as great performance.
He definitely overcame the mental hurdle of playing in NYC 🗽. We forget how he crashed back down to earth 🌍 when first played for us. It was never about talent or skill set with him, except purely mental. Not easy playing where the lights shine the brightest. LGM!!
I'll never forget when we brought him out in that last series in Atlanta and William Contreras came out to Narco. The crowd went wild and he proceeded to strike him out in 3 pitches. Brought a smile to my face as the rest of the Mets collapsed around him.
It's kind of strange when you look at his career arc. It basically comes to command and feel for the slider. If he has it working he is awesome. If not he gives up bombs.
@EXE could you please change the title to *All of *Aaron*Judge’s* Home Runs* because now we all know the entire Yankee season was tainted with manfred’ s BS juiced balls
@@trybebill7865 lmao that's not the point you dope. And congratulations on giving literally the exact same defense as Astros fans. Welcome to the club. "They didn't need to". Ya....probably not. But the point is that it happened period. Except in this case, it was MLB cheating FOR him and the Yankees as opposed to a team going rogue, which is waaaay freaking worse.
@@imnotcreativeenoughh the balls in question were still determined to be legal. They apparently were found in the last month of the season at Yankees games. AND your cheating logic is flawed because the Astros knew they were cheating. Judge has no idea mlb was putting balls that supposedly have more life to them into the game. Rewatch all of judges hrs for that run. I don't care if the balls were juiced or dead they were all going to leave the ballpark. Judge was on pace to break the record before any of these balls started showing up in games.
@@trybebill7865 They were found throughout the year but spiked in August and through September......and ohhhhhh would you look at that? Omg the amount of editing that goes in this vid. 🫶🏻🙏🏻
I'm new to baseball, is this actually good pitching? It seems like he throws outside the square a lot.
that would mean he's great because hitters are trying to hit a ball in the zone "the square" and his pitches are deceiving because they have so much break.
You're not just trying to pitch in the zone, you can get hitters to chase outside the zone if your pitches are very good/deceiving.

@ True, but 2022 also stood out cause he rarely gave up homers.

I wanted so badly for the Braves to beat this guy at least once this season, but he was so ridiculously unhittable 😂.

Now do a video where it shows all the juiced up baseballs he got to hit.

if there's a baseball player that doesn't need juiced balls it's 99.
