One thing it's 100 useful for, interchangeable backstraps. Had the palm swell large backstrap come loose on my duty issue FN 509. Not much other than a Kaboom is as unwelcomed than your grip coming apart during live fire, especially on a run and gun combat course.

A lot of people are misunderstanding what it’s supposed to used for. It’s tape to be put ON grips for either comfort or a fuller and softer grip for firearms with hard and basic straight grips. It is not supposed to improve grip texture or anything of the sort. It’s described to be used to either improve comfortability or protect certain parts of a tactical firearm from abrasions or for corners and sharp edges of a firearm TO NOT CATCH ON OTHER MATERIAL WHICH IS TJE MOST IMPORTANT FUNCTION OF A SOFT TACTICAL TAPE. Every video creator or comment reviewer calling this a gimmick or a marketing guise does not know enough about weapons tactics and weapon care.

I learned that gun cleaning solvent can basically melt the adhesive. Took a while to clean my grip after I got the tape off. Had to use a green scrubbie to get it off my hands after. It didn't improve or worsen my grip on the gun when I wrapped the grip.

Howies tape gets sticky and I hate it....

I use Rowling baseball bat tape. It’s basically goon tape and hockey tape. $4.99 at a local sporting goods store.
