I know this is very late but hopefully someone coming along later can benefit from this comment. Cosplay wigs are made of plastic, so the wig fibers must be heated up to reshape them and then allowed to be cooled down so they hold their shape. If you want the curls to hold their shape, try putting them in rollers, steaming/blow drying them, allow them to cool, and then let them down. You'll have very long lasting curls :)
