To this day Fralinger's Customs are 1 of prettiest and full of bling to go perfectly with their performance to go up broad street imo. Simply amazing performance. As a 16 year old watching this performance in 1987 , I was so impressed and I still put this performance in my top 10 of all time. Thank you for the memories!

THIS IS 1 of My FAVORITES!! I remember seeing them rehearse in the School Yard, Early in the Morning! The sound was Electrifying, The Dancers were Amazing and the 2 Men on Stilts were Strutting to the Beat of the Music! Such an Awesome Band❣️❣️ 🍀😇🍀

now thats mummers the plumes costumes music dancing todsy with all these cameras took away from mummery

Fralinger and Ferko are my favorites. I feel Ferko had the best costumes and music this year and both Fralinger and Ferko were better than Quaker City.

I cannot imagine how frustrating 1988-2002 was for Fralinger.

This was a first prize theme! Fralinger was was so much better then Quakers snow theme! Fralinger sounded better, looked better, better arrangement! Fralinger was #1 in '89! Quaker winning in '89 was a joke!

This musical arrangement raised the bar and changed the parade. My favorite still after 40 years!

i have Palmyra on video from 1972 they were unbeatable great captain Charles Molnar and alot of talent in the band someone should post the 1972 champs

this was simply the best ever and i do not think it will be beat unless the big bands go back to simple themes with backpieces and playing great music that is what we are string bands not broadway productions

This was the year before my first year up the street with the Crean String band. This piece from Fralinger, along with GK's "go for baroque" will always be IMHO the best two performances I've seen in my 38 years. Today's TV coverage is a travesty! It's amazing to me that in 2010 they can't figure out how channels 3 and 10 were able to get perfect sound in the 80's

Well, since I was very involved in getting those themes on the street in most of those years, I don't disagree with you at all!

Yes, they had it all except for the costume. It was tough to beat a costume designed to look best in the dark and could change into something with a totally different look thanks to the wizzardry of Charlie Schaffer. Palmyra put on a show that had never been seen before and was complimented by an awesome Captian's costume and presentation by Charlie Molnar. Till this day people still say Fralinger was robbed, but Palmyra was so innovative they were impossible to beat that year.

Ya know, in scoring, this actually had enough points in music & drill to win...except for costume, w/ 27.5. The judges said "a tux is a tux is a tux...even w/ sequins all over it." Was the suit that bad? I had some say (well, actually a lot) in getting this suit on the street. Was it that bad????

I think the band should have gotten 5 in a row--1983-1987-----85 and 86 was comepetitive, but realistically could have won those years.
