Ever since my first visit to Northern Territory in 1963, I declared that if ever the train line from Alice Springs to Darwin was completed, I would ride on The Ghan from Darwin to Adelaide as soon as possible. The line was completed in January 2004, and we travelled that April. To see more of my train and tram films, search Graham Wilcox, click my photo and open the TRAIN AND TRAM FILMS playlist.

hi
Fanbloodytastic 😊 Thank you for this gift 💝
STOP LAUCKE MILLS NOISE POLLUTION DURING THE NIGHT IN STRATHALBYN! PEOPLE WANT PEACE DURING THE NIGHT....NOT NOISE TORTURE!! STOP LAUCKE NOISE TORTURE!!!😞 p.s. - nice video!
Great video of this magnificent place.❤
3 vertical stabilizersIt states 1947 - 1959?
Was this plane established in 1955 for Commercial or VIPs?? At first in use.
When did they add tip tanks??
An enjoyable video Graham, but I noticed you used a few of my shots in there, namely at Woree and Bundaberg. No problem with that, I set the videos to allow sampling. But I’d really appreciate it if you could acknowledge the fact that you’ve used my content by posting credit within the video. Please check out the video ‘Dean Park Model Railway 318 All New Hornby MK3’ for an excellent example of how this can be done. That video uses several shots taken from the Alan Harrison Collection, a series of videos I produced for my channel Kartwheelkarl. The producer also contacted me first to check I didn’t mind, thereby ensuring that I wasn’t surprised to discover my footage used within his video, as I was with your video. Thank you for your consideration in this matter.
And I’ve just realised that you’ve even used my shot at Woree as your THUMBNAIL!!! And not so much as a word of acknowledgement, let alone a link to my channel or to my original footage. A tad bit unfair don’t you think?
historic film need more views. thanks for uploading the exploits the FLYING SCOTSMAN got up to down under 🙂
Thank you for your comment.
And it's still green! That's awesome! Sarah, in Greensboro North Carolina USA
Never realized how much pollution was spewing from the locomotive...ghastly sight, considering environmental concerns today. We can't seem to have anything perfect...such a majestic locomotive, anyway! Love the bagpipes!
Those two engineers were obviously having a ball...they looked like they were racing. People hanging out the windows...that was so much fun, back in my student days...we even went in and out the windows when the aisles were so crowded with other students. No one seemed to mind.
Thank you for your reply. It was truly an awesome day.
Brings me back. My wife and I rode this on our honeymoon trip from Banf to Vancouver in 1998. Thanks for sharing. 😊
Glad you enjoyed it
A truly magnificent relic she is!! When all four start up, that's a sound of many blessings of bringing this beauty back to life. I don't know of any other Super-Connies looking so wonderful in the world. The maintenance teams have done a fine job restoring this beautiful airplane. She looks so graceful in flight. Very nice job getting her back in the air!!
Thank you for your reply. Your description is spot-on.
Magnificent.
Thank you for your comment
love that plane, the sound of the engines.do not stand under it otherwise you could get a bit of oil on laugh.
Thanks for your comment. People who are not familiar with this plane might think the engines are on fire, but they are not.
Super great Video! I like it!
Thank you for your comment.
From 33:03 to 33:40 it's Poland. Polish steam locomotives are similar to German ones but it is easy to tell them apart - the Germans used only numerical markings, without letters, and did not use white paint for the undercarriage details
Thank you for your comment and the correction.
Liked the trip and the music, I must do it again soon....
Thank you for your comment. It seems that this train is very popular
Just beautiful🙂
Thank you! 😊
How long ago it was ...and recently.🙂And so much has changed for the better in 20 years.
Thank you for your comment
What kind of "supply" do you mean at 1:08? The Soviets were long gone, and these people carrying bags were rather small traders, than just residents. With the growth of trading enterprises later, this flea kind of logistics disappeared,
Thank you for that correction. I was relying on what I was told back in 2004
Wow due to 'Russia's hostility'. I did not know that Russia was and still is very 'hostile' to its neighbours. Thanks for reminding of it to the world which is a *well known* secret.
Thank you foir your comment.
Is this all yours Graham? It's awesome. You're quite the adventurous cinematographer putting life before limb to get your Paris traffic shots. You're a good drone pilot too. Well done. This brings back lots of memories of Amanda and my trip to Paris in 2017. We must get back there in the next couple of years before the fall of civilisation. Carry on! 😃👍
