    I used to compare myself a lot to people. "Everyone" seemed to be so much more successful and normal than I was. But one day I realized I was being pretty selective in who I was comparing myself to. I was only comparing myself to people who have flashy status symbols and constantly talk up their amazing lives. The people who weren't flashing symbols and who were more private just weren't on my radar. So, I got in the habit of thinking about the less fortunate whenever I would think about the more fortunate. I admit that it doesn't feel good to play the "It could be worse!" card on yourself. But it helps me to stop feeling sorry for myself. Try to be productive with your self-comparisons. Don't waste time beating yourself up for not being like your friends or whomever it is you are comparing yourself to. Find out what they are doing to be successful and try to follow in their footsteps. Use them as role models rather than as sources of self-punishment.🤍✨
