Island Beaver Tales
Канада
Добавлен 1 мар 2020
Hello! We are Aaron and Kathleen, a husband and wife duo from Vancouver Island, British Columbia.
Aaron has served over 21 years in the Canadian Military, and I have worked in a variety of social service roles in so many locations I have lost count. Like many military families we have said hello and goodbye to family and friends more times than we can count.
Now that the kids are grown and Aaron’s military career draws to a close, we have big plans!
So join us as we explore this beautiful island we call home and join our progression from selling our family home to eventually traveling via RV across Canada and the United States. We hope that our adventures will inspire you to get up off that couch, get outside, and explore your own backyard!

Horne Lake, British Columbia - Kayaking Adventures
One of our favourite things to do is kayaking. Normally, we are in the water by the third week of April. However, due to the pandemic we have had to put our weekend excursions on hold.
This week we are reminiscing about one of our go to places, Horne Lake. Such a beautiful and peaceful spot! We usually launch from Horne Lake Regional Park. This park is huge, at 105-hectares it has a fantastic campground and offers a wide range of activities such as swimming, boating, hiking and more. The cliffs that rise above Horne Lake have a trail that can take you to the summit of Mount Mark and provide you with stunning views for as far as the eye can see.
If you are ever in the area, check it out!

Island adventures can take you to the most fantastic places. Today's video short is a hidden gem of a trail and abandoned port that we found two years ago when we were out and about looking for a new place to explore. Old Port H'Kusam was about an hour walk in (going at a leisurely pace) and is located near Sayward, BC. *Social Media linktr.ee/islandbeavertales How to get there... www.alltrails...

How do you make your trip to Vancouver Island one that you will never forget? The list is long. However, after living on the island for almost 15 years combined now, I would have to say traveling to Campbell River and going on a 7-Hour Whale Watching Tour is one of our top 3 experiences to date. Enough so, that we have gone every single year for the past 3 years. There are many places you can g...

Outdoor adventures don't have to be miles from home. Sometimes it is as simple as walking out your front door and taking a walk around your neighbourhood, nearby parks or trails. It is amazing how a short hike or walk can clear your mind, slow things down, and give you a glimpse of the beauty all around you. Where do you like to walk?
