I think you can set it to wait or active mode. Active mode wouldn’t pause. There’s also a gambit system for auto commands and you can do 2x or 4x speed so it’s customizable. I played the original so I have it set up a bit more like that.

Yeah. I think I did that before. I was trying to get through story faster this time and do more optional stuff after. It’s nice it gives you options. 🙂

@ mechanically, especially in rebirth the “open world” traversal feels so clunky, it looks good, conceptually it’s true to the original. For instance cloud can just jump up high ass rocks without any sort of landing animation and if there is its minimal, and at the same time he can’t jump 3 feet to grab the top of a cargo thing and climb up, you gotta find a ladder or something, running across rugged terrain is inconsistent where you just hop up things and others you hit a wall, no falling, climbing or sliding or even slipping, like horizon or rdr2. Ik he’s a supersoldier and can do crazy shit but still it feels lazy, and I know it’s an rpg and exploration/adventure isn’t a focal point but when they branch out into more open world stuff, and make it an action rpg, then those details stick out especially in the more….confusing areas (Gongaga, fucking awful). Open world games are meant for exploration, and while remake I thought was pretty great, I hated rebirth because they failed the open world concept, its big and empty, the original was big too but it was still story driven, PLUS there was always something somewhere if you looked. And I’m not even gonna get into the amount of stupid minigames that were added to the already massive amount that it had. (Chocobo racing aside that’s cool). My complaints are mostly about rebirth, felt half assed, bad map design, bad terrain traversal, combat felt like a step back from remake, trying to pack in too many things into a game that had struck a decent balance of the atb system and action…kinda like KH3.

Also I liked the old sephiroth voice actor, this one’s good too but the dude from advent children and crisis core was PERFECT

@@Bleedthefreak I haven't played Rebirth yet, since I'm playing on PC, but I should be playing through it after it comes out. Yea, I could see how those things would be really frustrating. I get annoyed with not being able to jump in RPGs sometimes. haha. I'll have to see what I think in a few months when I'm done with it. I am enjoying this one, though. I also haven't played KH3, but played a lot of the first 2 and those were really fun.

@@Bleedthefreak I watched Advent Children a LONG time ago, but I do remember him being good. Artistic choices can be a tough thing to navigate. I wonder if they tried to get that OG VA or not?

🤣As long as it's just a simulator, and not actually getting tetanus. Idk how that would even play out. I'm sure there's going to be a sim game for everything eventually.

The fact that you have to go out of your way to solve a puzzle in a "less interesting" area of the game probably adds to that too. That's interesting. I didn't know about the FFT bosses.

@@a7xtherevrend People seemed to love or hate it so you’re definitely not the only one that thinks that about it. I do think it takes a little while to get the hang of some systems, especially if you were more used to the turn-based style games from before.

Like any other final fantasy. Most things you can power through by just attacking relentlessly. Some enemies are designed to be hard stops. Most of them will use status to breakdown unprepared players. But most people over level characters voluntary or involuntary. So fights tend to feel on the easy side. The hunts and trials can become hard though.

It’s such a good game! It’s one of those with a replay once in a while for the nostalgia. I like the mix of gambits but also free will override. 😂

I use Libra any chance I can. I think it showed then with Libra as well. 😄

Yea. The base part isn't so bad, but I definitely needed a map after just winging it. haha. I remember going through it on my first playthrough and I think I was about at the Ultima fight when I quit playing. I'll definitely have to do that and Omega eventually!
