I still can't figure it out. Norman runs 44.1 in the semi's. Looks easily and even lets up and smiles. Then he gets 8th place in finals, not nearly approaching the 44.1. I gotta assume he couldn't handle the pressure that he has in the past, when he was World Champion. Frankly, this was his olympics. I don't think he will be there in 4 more years.

What do you mean "nobody cares about Indoors"... obviously YOU never run indoor track before! As for those of us who did (run indoor & outdoor).. we all have COMPLETELY different experiences with that sport that "we" cared about & mattered "TO US....whether YOU respect the sport or not. He did pretty damn well. 10.47 for a non-specialist is great. You had to expect that Mondo would be super fast - he ran 10.5 in high school. I thought it was a good race and both acquitted themselves well.

Man I’m an old school TnF and XC runner. Y’all young bloods don’t realize how elite and well trained the guys Duplantis is. I mean have u not done any research on him or Warholm? I would always pick Duplantis in the 100 against Warholm. Warholm is a strong 400m hurdler. His open quarter is nice but not Michael Johnson fast. Duplantis conversely is always sprinting for his event and he is the guy who prepares himself frfr. Warholm never did show us that he is 200m or 100m fast. I mean I never thought he would break 10.5 in the 100 I totally agree with this idea of ppl like Bron, and other sport athletes competing with TnF athletes. It’ll help people see just how competitive TnF athletes really are But yeah I wouldn’t think Warholm could ever beat Duplantis in 100m Peace n Love

I'm actually not that surprised Mondo won. It requires some serious explosive speed to do the pole jump.

When Duplantis plants the pole he is running faster than 10m/s. The reason Duplantis stands alone in the pole vault world is because of speed. In the pole vault, speed translates to height at the box and no one in the world can come close to him.

World Record holder Warholm is not an embarrassment. His technique out of the blocks and standing up so quick doesn't look good, but his 400 hurdle ww is beyond insane.

I don’t think some people understand, mondo has been vaulting for over 20 years, basically his whole life. He doesn’t have technical things to work on his form is basically perfect, the only way he can improve is getting faster so most of his training is probably sprinting

Warholm is far from being an embarrassment, and even further from needing anyone's pity. Coming here to make that kind of statements should be an embarrassment for yourself, but I think you are far from getting it and understand it. And what a pity that is not being able to see it.

Even as being a Swede, I would definitely not say that Warholm is an embarrasment. I understand you don't know much about T&F, but then you shouldn't come with that kind of statements. Duplantis is a polevaulter depending on his speed on short distances. I would have been very surprised if Warholm would have won. Warholm is a great sprinter, but longsprinter, and he's depending on his strenght.

Great pole vaulters are very fast. Former wr holder Bubka also ran 10.3. Warholm doesn’t have great 400m flat speed, he has strength and great hurdling technique.

Duplantis has to run 6 to 8 x's when vaulting - The faster the the run the more energy generated - Thus giving him 100m speed and endurance - There you have it !

I think I remember seeing something where Sha'carri said she didn't care for the first season of Sprint. Perhaps its her choice not to be on there. Sha' carri is trying to move forward and maybe she's not trying to be a cliche for Netflix to exploit. I'll be watching mostly for Noah, Jefferson, Terry, Kerley and the other American athletes.

I will be watching Julien Alfred on Netflix Series Sprint. She is very humbled. Sometimes, I feel she is being discredited. She deserved that gold medal. She trained hard and worked hard.

SFP is retiring and tbh, track is missing a truly charismatic personality such as the late Flo Jo and Usain Bolt. Track hasn't done enough since Bolt retired to endear itself to mainstream audiences. It remains more popular in Europe and maybe, the point of the NetFlix series was to bring much needed attention to the sport in the US.
