Been considering getting one of those Ikon mowers. I have an Ariens Sno-Thro that has worked great for many, many years now so I may be a little biased on their brand. My current mower is a standard old style Poulan Pro 46" cut w/ a 20hp single cylinder B&S. It currently has 419 hours on it and is on its 14th year since I bought it new in 2010. Had to put a new carburetor on it last week as the old one finally gave up the ghost and I didn't want to bother with rebuilding it. It has been a good mower but is starting to show its age, lol.

The fluid actually goes in the bigger screw under the one you pointed to. Thank you for mentioning the plastic piece too. They should have put it in the manual, but probably costs too much for them to reprint. So they just let people go crazy trying to figure that out 😂

I guess depends on your budget. I imagine the painter will charge on size. If it's an outfit they should be liable for the final product. I've read from others who are handyman and no guarantee from what I've read. Get a quote and go from there is my suggestion. Shouldn't cost anything. Good luck!

I have same mower, had it a week. On my first cut the deck belt got shredded. Looking at your pulley's under the access panel I think mine are very different.

I Picked up the 42 inch Ikon X last year. I mow about6 yards per week and so far it’s been perfect. I bought a chute blocker this spring. And may get the lights on the front later this year.

Curious to know how it is going with your Ikon 52? I am on my second one, both eating up and throwing out the mower deck belt at around 1.5 hours of use. The company sent me what is supposed to be the proper belt, and have made it 2 more hours with no problems. Hopefully, I am good now.

If you read the manual, it clearly states that you need to ensure that the loads used are 1200 fps minimum and james will occur during break in period. They recommend 250 rounds. Everything I have seen says once broken in, it’s an excellent shotgun.

I’ve read that you need to run about 150 rounds of really powerful stuff (1450 fps) through it to break it in. Oil the gas piston well…..and you should be good to go even with the lower recoil stuff….good luck.

Hi Joey. Run some 1425fps Black Aces Tactical 00 buck through her. I broke my VR80 in with that ammo with zero issues. Also, you need to keep the gas system pistons wet with oil.

The manual states that you may have to shoot up to 200 shells before it starts to cycle properly.

I've watched many videos on this gun. the trick is to shoot high velocity slug and buckshot shells. try to find something over 1350 fps and 3 inches long. also, take the gun apart and degrease it. it is shipped out with a packing grease that protects the parts which can cause the malfunctions your having. One more thing is to leave the gun with the bolt back for about a month and no magazine (obviously). working the bolt spring will help it cycle better. This is what I've seen from different vidoes.
