I am using some one else's device. I taught myself to throw a knuckle ball in little league. I can teach them if they want to learn. I had/ have a wicked knuckle ball. It only took me one summer to learn it. It was fun to throw and see the umpires face after they saw it.

I pitched in 90's. Went to clinics by Mazzone and tried out for Expos but no one not even colleges would take the "risk" as I too have a arm issue where I over threw as a kid and bicep tendon tore away from bone leaving tumour build up. No one trusted that pitch then and I mean no one. Hate I didn't get the chance but glad Dickey got that opportunity..

I pitch softball 🥎 underhand and I throw 90% knuckleballs. Crazy how people can’t hit it even at 2 mph. If they don’t it pops right up high and easy. Or into the ground at 3rd. Someone someday will bring it back! It’s to lethal if used right:

I very nearly hurt my elbow badly trying to throw sliders in Little League. So one day, while trying something different to stop the stress on me elbow, I accidentally threw a knuckleball that had the entire infield wondering wtf was that. I started practicing it and threw it all the way thru high school, ironically with the same catcher all those years. He got really good at framing my pitches haha Never made it to college with it though because nobody wanted to take a chance on a knuckler in 2009; they only wanted flamethrowers. And since my fastball topped out in the 70s, that was the end of my pitching career. Tim Wakefield was THE MAN for me back in those days

Perfect the pitch is a joke no such thing as perfection but maybe it’s not because they don’t see it worth their time it’s because they don’t know how to teach it so they make some excuse instead of admitting it’s above their skill level. Let’s be honest no one wants to say I am not capable of doing that.

It's not really that difficult. I was just your average high school player and I threw it effectively. I even threw it in little league. My dad taught both my brother and I when we were real young. But it honestly didn't take a ton of effort. Key is to not throw it too hard so it has time to dance.

Wish more pitchers would use knuckleballs now, instead of all trying to throw 105. It would probably also cut down on strikeouts, putting the ball in play more, which would make the game less boring. As well as saving arms.

Also why is the Screwball gone? Unhittable as well!

I threw a knuckleball in high school until one didn’t dance and they hit a line drive back at me right to the side of my knee. I decided not to keep throwing it.

from what i barely understand about physics and what MLB is doing to the baseballs (making them tighter and ronuder) i could see young talent at least attempting to pick up a knuckleball. i get this idea from a soccer video when they tried to make the ball a perfect sphere.

They’re hard for the batter to track, but they’re also tough for the catcher to track, and in an age where framing is everything, being able to fool the umpire before he can determine the right call, knuckleballs just aren’t desirable.

😂😂😂 was always fun to throw growing up. As a left handed submarine thrower, and did more as my son grew up. Its not hard to teach or learn, it is very hard to master. We had kids who couldn't be fooled by junk ball pitchers, but couldnt catch up to a fastball.

This is a true fact, my dad can throw a really good knuckleball but he had to stop playing baseball in collage due to shoulder problems, to this day he still loves to throw the ball around and show me and my siblings how good he could’ve been
