Hydraulic Zero Gap Flange Spreader
ESI’s Zero Gap Flange Spreader line spreads flanges with little or no access gap, and are also ideal when obstructions, such as the change out of blinds or butterfly valves are involved. When used in pairs, as recommended, Secure-Grip Spreaders will produce from 26T of spreading force. By employing the innovative expanding bolt hole collet/pin system, the collets/pins expand and grip the inner walls of the bolt holes and are able to “pull” open flange joints from the outside of flange joints through the cantilevering action of the outer arms of the Mechanical and Hydraulic spreaders.

Our organization currently faces an ongoing and urgent need for a highly effective system that can swiftly and consistently propagate and sustain alignment across a diverse range of diameters. As engineers responsible for operations at a facility with a significant throughput capacity of 250,000 barrels per day (bpd), we are actively seeking to procure ten units of this solution. So what is it? How does it work? How badly were the bolts stuck? Did it actually remove any bolts? (I didn't see any come out.)
It’s a torque gun. It’s not meant for removal. It’s specially for tightening to specs beyond what a torque wrench is capable of and loosening things you wouldn’t normally be able to loosen with hand tools. They’re slow and not fun to use, I can say that too seeing as I use one all the time for doing large flanges on pipe. Heavy, cumbersome, and slow. But they make life a hell of a lot easier than swinging a hammer at a knock wrench.
My apologies for the delay. The TLSM-1475 is a high speed, bi-directional multiplier. The yellow attachment you see on the screen is the reaction arm. The arm is positioned firmly on another object (typically another nut) and the multiplier torques the nut while reacting off the other. The multiplier's benefit is the speed and weight at which it does the job compared to a standard hydraulic torque wrench. The TLSM-1475 has a speed of 58 RPM and Weighs less than 7 lbs. However, compared to the hydraulic torque wrench it's not as accurate and produces less torque. Which means it is limited in its capabilities. In this case the operator was using the multiplier to loosen nuts and for the purposes of filming should have removed the nuts altogether. However, the operator loosened 4 nuts in 29 seconds which is extremely fast. Learn more at www.flangespreaderrental.com
