The Silent Stars Eleanor loved looking at the stars. Every night, she lay on her old quilt in the backyard, watching them shine. The stars gave her peace and felt like old friends. But one night, something changed. The stars were silent. She didn’t notice before that they made a quiet hum, like a soft vibration she could feel but not hear. Now, the silence felt strange and heavy. Eleanor sat up, searching the sky. The stars looked the same, but they felt different-far away and lifeless. Shivering, she went back inside. The next day, the whole town was talking about the stars. At the diner, Frank, the old farmer, said, “It’s like the sky is holding its breath.” Others agreed. Even scientists on the news said the stars had stopped sending signals. Nobody knew why. Dr. Griggs, a scientist, came to town to study the stars. He set up strange machines in the town square. “The stars are still there,” he told the crowd. “But something is blocking the signals, like a curtain between us and them.” “What does that mean?” someone asked. Dr. Griggs shook his head. “We don’t know. But it’s not natural.” That night, Eleanor went back to her quilt. The stars were still silent, and they seemed so far away. Dr. Griggs joined her. “Do you think the stars are angry with us?” she asked. “Maybe they want us to listen,” he said. After a week, the stars began to hum again. They packed a big picnic and brought their towels, umbrellas, and beach toys. When they arrived, the beach was crowded, but they found a perfect spot. Mr. Davis was setting up the beach chairs, and Mrs. Davis was laying out the picnic blanket while the kids were already running toward the water. Emma and Max were laughing and splashing in the waves. The sun was shining brightly, and everything seemed perfect. While the kids were swimming, Mrs. Davis was reading a book, and Mr. Davis was building a sandcastle nearby. The wind was soft, and the sound of the waves was relaxing. But then, without warning, the wind started getting stronger. Suddenly, dark clouds appeared on the horizon. The Davis family didn’t notice at first because they were too busy enjoying their day. Mr. Davis was still building the sandcastle, and Mrs. Davis was dozing off under the umbrella. The kids were trying to find seashells when they felt the first drops of rain. “What’s going on?” Emma asked, looking up at the sky. Before anyone could answer, it started raining hard. Within minutes, a full-blown storm had arrived. The wind was howling, and the waves were crashing harder onto the shore. Mr. Davis was trying to hold the umbrella, which was blowing away, while Mrs. Davis was quickly packing up the picnic. The kids were running back from the water, laughing and screaming, “It’s a storm! It’s a storm!” While they were gathering their things, the rain kept pouring down. They were all soaked, and the beautiful day they had planned was quickly ruined. The family was trying to get everything together, but the wind was making it difficult. “We were just relaxing, and now look at this!” Mr. Davis shouted, still holding onto the umbrella, which was almost flying away. “I was reading when the rain started!” Mrs. Davis said, laughing at how quickly things had changed. “We were swimming when the storm came,” Emma said, smiling, even though her hair was wet and sandy. Eventually, they managed to pack everything up and run back to the car. Even though their beach day didn’t go as planned, the family was laughing the whole way back. They couldn’t stop talking about how they were playing in the water one minute and running for cover the next.

The Lost Wallet Alex had a busy day yesterday. He needed to buy a gift for his friend's birthday, so he decided to go to the city center. Alex took a bus to the shopping mall and started looking for the perfect gift. At the first store, Alex saw a beautiful watch. He thought it would be a great gift, but it was too expensive. So, Alex left the store and went to another one. He walked through the mall, looking at different items. Finally, Alex found a nice book that his friend would love. After buying the book, Alex felt hungry. He went to a café, ordered a sandwich, and sat down to eat. While eating, Alex remembered that he needed to buy a card for the gift. He quickly finished his sandwich and went to the card shop. In the card shop, Alex searched for the perfect card. He found one with a funny message and went to the cashier to pay. When Alex reached into his pocket, he realized something was wrong. The wallet was missing! Alex started to panic. He retraced his steps, walking back to the café. He asked the waiter if anyone had found a wallet, but the waiter said no. Then, Alex went back to the bookshop and asked the cashier if they saw a wallet, but again, no luck. Feeling worried, Alex decided to check the first store where he saw the watch. When Alex entered the store, the salesperson recognized him. "Did you lose something?" the salesperson asked. Alex nodded, and the salesperson handed him the wallet. "You left it here when you were looking at the watches," the salesperson explained. Alex was so relieved. He thanked the salesperson, took his wallet, and left the store with a big smile. With the wallet back in his pocket, Alex went home, happy that the day ended well.

Sam's Daily Routine Sam wakes up at 6 AM every day. He gets out of bed and stretches his arms, yawning loudly. He always looks at the calendar on his wall. Today is Wednesday, his favorite day because he gets to work on a big project. Sam brushes his teeth and washes his face. At 6:30 AM, he eats breakfast. He usually has toast with butter and a cup of coffee, but today he adds a little honey to his toast for a treat. After breakfast, Sam takes a shower. The warm water wakes him up, and he hums a tune while he washes his hair. He dries off and puts on his work clothes. Sam likes to wear a blue shirt and black pants to work. It’s his “lucky” outfit. At 7:30 AM, he leaves his apartment. He walks to the bus stop and waits for the bus. He enjoys the fresh morning air. Sam works in an office. He starts work at 8 AM.
